Farnsy Lunardi the CF Bracketology here, the report will be coming tomorrow. I'll breakdown of how the selection committee felt with the CFUP (CF User Poll) rankings through the StrawPoll.

A tease (or if I get bored and don't do it) from this.

The #2 Seeds.
Bill Burr (StrawPoll #2 Seed, #8 rank) -
Chris Rock (StrawPoll #3 Seed, #9 rank) ^
Mitch Hedberg (StrawPoll #5 Seed, #20 rank) ^
John Mulaney (StrawPoll #8 Seed, #32 rank) ^

The #16th Seeds
Patton Oswalt (StrawPoll #6 Seed, #22 rank)
Tom Segura (StrawPoll #13 Seed, #49 rank)
Richard Lewis (StrawPoll #17 Seed, #66 rank) ^
Dustin Slay (StrawPoll #NA (31) Seed, #120 rank) ^

Hedburg, Mulaney, and biggest favor Dustin Slay from the selection committee. Mitch up from a StrawPoll #5 seed up to #2, and Mulaney from a #8 to the #2. Dustin Slay is a favorite of committee as it had 2 votes for the StrawPoll (120th rank out of like 135ish).

Oswalt and Segura didn't feel the committee thought they didn't have the resume, the StrawPoll would make them #6 and #13 seeds were they barely called their name before about last 4 out.
Slay actually got in as a wild card selection by a committee member. A few other comics did as well. Basically the 16 seeds and some of the 15s. My wild card was Richard Lewis, although he is gonna get destroyed by Carlin.

Not sure if it was his style (which I didn't care for) or his writing. Usually it is the latter. There are some comedians that blow up, but it's so hard to followup with something that keeps the momentum going. The best of the best seem to work really, really hard testing and refining their material. It helps if they are great at delivery, because some people can keep you laughing simply by the way they say things.
People found out he stole a lot of jokes from Chad Daniels, that was part of why his stand up career went into the toilet.

Kind of been quiet regarding reaction so far. While at times I feel some reactions have been overly critical that's better than apathy.

Hopefully these tournaments here haven't jumped the shark. :(

My knowledge isn't extensive enough to dispute much of the seedings. On a personal level, I think Brian Regan is under-seeded by a few lines. Big-picture it's probably in a fair general range, but having to challenge Carlin in round of 32 is kind of a bummer. Assuming he gets past Dice Clay, and I hope so ... I can't think of any easier choice in head-to-head.

Of all the tournaments, I think the seeding for this one turned out the best. Just my opinion. Dice is top 10 for me, but it seems like a lot of people here don't like him so I don't think he would have gone too far anyways.

I like Nicki Glaser a lot but not enough to put her over Dangerfield.

Are we evaluating at their funniest, their most current, or their whole body of work? Because some of these peaked and faded pretty hard. Also jeff foxworthy versus roseanne is a brutal selction.

I definitely feel like they haven't come even close to jumping the shark. These tournaments are great, and I feel comfortable speaking for CF as a whole when I say we're extremely grateful for the work you do to help us get through the offseason with these.

As I've stated before, this category definitely isn't my forte and I suspect that's true of a lot of folks who may not be familiar with every comic's stand-up work. That said, based on what little I do know, I think this tournament is really well seeded. There are little arguments available here and there based on personal preference, but I don't see anything egregious which is what usually drums up a lot of reaction.

Thanks again for running these! Now let's get out the vote for my boy Ron White.

A ton of people contributed to nomination process and are into this one.

Have patience. When the chips are on the table, you can count on CF to overreact about other peoples' opinions. We won't let you down.

I don't care for either, but I highly dislike one. I would have loved to have seen these matched up against other people so I could vote them both out, but I still know who's not getting my vote.
