What issues will there be for scanning football tickets this year?

It depends how it's set up. I don't think very many people are going to bother walking all the way to the front gate just to get a wrist band ahead of time. Do we all have to get a wrist band to get in even right before the game? Is there going to be a dedicated line off to the side for those that got wrist bands early? Those are the type of things that will determine how well it works. Seems unnecessary to me because by the end of last season things were working pretty well.
Where I could see this being useful is if you have all the tickets on 1 phone and you dont want to go all in at the same time.

My parents still use flip phones so if I bring them to a game we would all have to go into the game together.

Is this still the case? Or has Ticketmaster straightened itself out on being customer-user friendly?

If it's a dedicated line then fine but if it's just people pushing their way to the front then I can see it being a problem. Honestly, I really don't think they need to change much. More scanning machines fixes everything and after the first game or two I thought it went really well last year.
Of course it can't be pushing to the front.

That seems odd … can you tap to pay at stores?
Yes, although since last year I bought a new phone, so I cant test that scenario anymore.

I have not had an issue with any systems except those at ISU. I finally just went to the bar code and scanned them the old fashioned way, one at a time.

I loved all the posts that tell people they dont know how to use the system and the shaming of old people etc. When I tried everything possible, and never got the tap to work, anything from completely not reading the tap, to the system saying something about invalid tickets etc, but then going to scanner and the tickets worked fine.

In all it was just a complete slow down and it was easier to just scan the barcode. And I witnessed the same things happening to other people around me every single game too. And I know multiple people that have said they also gave up on the tap system and just always went to the barcode and scanned, because the tap feature never worked.

The system is great in theory, but for whatever reason it never worked correctly as intended.

On our vacation this year, We went to multiple venus that used electronic tickets. None used the tap system, they all only used barcode scanning. I just dont think the tap system has all the bugs out of it yet etc. It just does not work consistently enough. Thus with all the issues, it causes major slowdowns entering at times.

I get it … between 2 different ways the machines work and not a well trained staff (not their fault) it can be frustrating.

Downloaded my season tickets for the upcoming fall season yesterday and it got me thinking about what the whole process is going to be this year compared to last year. Don't know if this will change or not but last year if you went in from the north side and your game tickets are on the west side you had to be in like the first three or four lines. If you went to the lines east of those, you get directed to head up the east ramp and walk around the upper concourse on the north end.
Here was my problem. All transactions were limited to my wife’s phone. I called ISU multiple times and they said they had no fix.
They said two phones could not access the same account. Example I tried to transfer tickets to a friend. When he got to the gate they did not work and he had to go to the ticket office.
Is this fixed?

We have 10 tickets and I transfer 9 to others. Never had a problem.

Someone else had this problem last year … hopefully they found a fix and chime in.

Technology is weird. My wife and I share the same account and we can both go in and select the tickets we want. She sits in Sukup so she puts those in her wallet and I put the good seats in my wallet.

I also transfer tickets weekly to 2 other people with no issues.

I didn't know that with an Iphone you had to make sure the screen was on default and not zoom in order to download your tickets to your apple wallet. The QR code just kept scanning back and forth with nothing telling me to add it to my apple wallet. Found out the day before we left for the Liberty Bowl last Dec. that nothing was working. Figured out it was the zoom feature preventing it. Once I figured that out, I know what to do now.

I've accessed my Cyclones.com account on multiple devices, and have sent tickets to other people/other devices almost weekly - with zero issues. Are you transferring to a friend directly from Cyclones.com? That's how I've always done tickets & parking passes & haven't ever had a recipient not able to use the ticket.

My understanding is that you can access your account on however many devices you want , but you can only download the ticket to one phone and. If your wife had previously loaded it into her wallet, it wouldn't work on anybody else's phone even if you transfer it, until it's deleted from her wallet.

My wife ended up creating her own ticketmaster account. If she is entering the game separate from me, I transfer her the ticket like you would for any other friend. With her working in Ames and myself working in Carroll we do that quite often during basketball season.

Thanks to all that replied.
We had no problem two years ago.
No new phones - both same I phone.
Both names on account and all correspondence.
Not in zoom mode
What I hear is some people have a problem some do not. I hear no fix.
When I spoke to ISU last year ( multiple times) they said it was a know problem and they were working on a fix. That was early in the FB season and it still did not work at the end of the basketball season. Frankly we go together 99% of the time, so it’s annoying only. If I wanted to go alone I guess I need to take her phone. If we go separately - that does not work. If I want to invite a friend she must do it, including adding them as a contact. As I told them on the phone I pay $10K for my tickets and the right to sit where I do, but I cannot put a ticket in my wallet.

Not saying I don't believe you or what you've heard, but I can't believe it's just an error that affects only a random "some", there's no idea what causes it, and there's no fix. It can't be device-specific, so don't understand why you'd need her phone - at worst you should be able to login to her account from your phone (but even that seems far-fetched). Not saying I'm better by any stretch, but wish I could try for you (if for nothing else than to see it myself).

I bet if you told them you were going to pull your donation, they'd do something to get it fixed yesterday.

Maybe they should introduce turn styles since so many people bust through the ticket takers

Thats great for the lots close, but for the ones way out not so much.
I have the perfect solution for those lots farther out. Take 2 beers with you. Drink one on the way there to get your ticket scanned... then drink the 2nd one on the way back to your tailgate.

We only have one account, in both our names.
It seems to be device specific.
What I hear is the responses on this thread.
I have spoken to two different people at ISU
No answers.

Easiest solution may be to have one of you set up a separate account so you both have an account, then the one that has the tickets just transfers the ticket to the other.

Working in Carroll? Do you drive a minivan?
