idk maybe because we have a clear talent advantage and we should realistically dominate teams like this....last time we barely scraped by an FCS squad, we followed it up with a measly 7-6 season in which we should've won 9+ games with that roster

That could be said about every year, but yet we’ve struggled in many season openers that we had absolutely no business struggling in.

'That roster' was much more deficient than it's given credit for and didn't get the breaks like the season prior.

And, this group is not that group.

A lot can happen over three months and a low key win won't define it all.

maybe just maybe the team in the prior year got breaks because there was a global pandemic that occurred in which teams had multiple sit outs every game.

That season is really hard to take anything away from because the lack of players playing and the fact that there were no crowds or at the very most 15% of stadium capacity allowed.

I've been an ISU fan long enough to learn not take the first few games as the bell weather for the season, haha.

If they do come out strong, great but as the season goes along and a few losses come up, we'll see the 'why aren't they playing like the first game?' comments, ignoring that opponents scout and counter to trends, and sports as a rule isn't linear.
Exactly- we lost to freaking Ohio last year and then reeled off 6 of 9 in the Big 12

So with that why did you expect 9+ wins the next season?

Depth chart has been revealed. Lots of "OR" on the o-line. Not very comforting.

Areas interesting to me
  • OR next to Hufford’s name. Got to be injury-related given he has the longest active start streak in the team
  • Jalen Travis didn’t win the start LT job. Seems like he was a big fish catch for We Will. Maybe injuries there?
  • LG - could be an adventure?
  • Purchase not a starter at corner. I know he had some issues last year, and Porter is also a senior, but Purchase is a three-year starter entering his senior season?
  • Hopefully Jontez Williams is the real deal, because there is a big drop-off in CB depth it looks like

  • Creative

I think Travis would be the LT starter and Neal would be LG starter if both are healthy. Hufford switched positions so not surprised to see the "OR".

Gotcha. That makes me feel better (or worse) that this isn’t our ideal/best lineup

I'm assuming we win, obviously if not then this program is done. In the same light, if we can't run the ball easily (even in a win) then yeah it's over

Des Moines, Ia.
Campbell will try to establish the run the entire first half in a slow slugfest and be up only 14-3 at half, then UND will get a field goal to start the second half and ISU will throw a little more in response with the final score being around 31-13
