Well, I guess this clarifies my question, Hawkeyes show kindness by peeing on each other.
Pretty weird to get offered appetizers by someone who made them who doesn't wash their hands after pissing.

Not exactly sure.

Had a hawkeye fan once tell me he doesn’t need to wash his hands because he doesn’t pee on his hands while going. Why you probably see so many cold sores around their mouths. That’s how they move the STDs around.

Iowans of all rooting interests are the best. I've been to so many cyhawks, both stadiums. Always had great times
Did you find it weird at Jack Trice that we use our bathrooms to pee in and not just for sex or did you have to take a moment to adjust to that?

I will say that a hawk fan on here two years ago invited me to their tailgate for a beer. With as many usernames as that drugged out one (what was his Twitter handle again?) I was concerned it was another one of his and I’d be jumped by his posse.

I had a Cyclone friend explain it to me before I went. By time I was in the facilities I was ready. Got in and out. No funny business
God damn it, I KNEW it.

Sounds like a Badger. Probably plotted this after the NCAA tournament game. You were wise to not fall for the trap. They're a tricky group

Been to this game twice in IC and I have no desire to ever go back. I am not a confrontational or obnoxious person so I stay in my lane especially in IC but have not enjoyed my visits there where just about any other road game destination I have been to I usually enjoyed even if we lost. You cannot say a single word or look in the direction of a Hawk fan going to and from Kninnick and it doesn't matter, some (or multiple) jackwagon will throw something at you or get up in your face and start talking smack just because you are wearing Iowa State stuff. Then just pray you don't get tickets next to a jackwagon like that and have to endure a whole game of that too. I get that it is a rivalry and I have seen our own fans do stupid things to Hawk fans when the game is in Ames too but it's not even close how bad their fans are to us in IC compared to how they are treated when they come to Ames IMO. The ISU band probably has plenty of stories too as some where shared here a few years ago after the whole "bandgate" thing that happened at Jack Trice.

My brother has probably had worse experiences than me there. He was at the Seneca game in 02 and they were not even parked yet before someone threw a beer bottle at his roommate's car because it had ISU plates. Said they got push and shoved around in the stands for the first half then once ISU made their run they finally left them alone. He said the best part was some ignorant fan a few rows up after the game says something like "Seneca isn't that good." After not saying a word to anyone in the section the whole game said he turned around and told them "just look at the scoreboard, he pretty much just beat the Hawks by himself!"

Several years ago I got to talk with the driver that drives the Decker truck that hauls the ISU FB stuff and he said that IC was the only place he ever goes where he has to stay with the truck all night. He said he basically sits in his seat with his eyes peeled on the side mirrors for most of the night because some idiot usually tries to piss on the truck or vandalize it in someway. Any place else he usually is able to park the truck and go get a hotel for the night and not have to worry about anything happening to the truck.

If you have to go number 2, wear a condom to protect from the STDs likely to jump from the toilets. If you hear moaning in the bathroom, understand it's just hogs inbreeding in the stall next to you. Be ready to hear a lot of booing. Don't forget to smile when you wave. Rush the field if ISU wins just for ***** and giggles.

Last cyhawk game I went to in kinnick a girl in the row behind us puked all over the guy sitting next to me. We were obviously livid and especially so when they tried to convince us she was good now and they were staying.

Just understand that you will be met by multiple Iowa fans who will approach you and say (in their best Beevis & Butthead sounding voices) “hey, huh huh, how ‘bout dem hawkeyes, huh huh?” And think to themselves that they are the funniest person on the planet and that they are the first Iowa fan to ever say that to you!

To be fair it isn't just them. Quite a few years ago I didn't have tickets to the game in JTS but my Iowa grad buddy had gotten tickets in the iowa alotment. His wife decided to stay at the tailgate so I went in with him. We were clear at the top on the east side upper deck. Just as we go to our row we watched an inebriated ISU fan puke all over my buddy's seat. They took her out and her companion apologized. He gave my buddy his jacket to sit on.

I have had my share of problems in IC, but they don't totally corner the market.

I'm sorry that you have a friend that went there.

He's a very nice guy. One year I sat in Kinnick with one of his buddies because the buddy had an extra ticket. I thought he was going to get in a fight with another hawk fan.

In 2002 we took our bus over to tailgate and I didn't have a ticket. My buddy's wife is a former iowa FB cheerleader and she didn't go into the game. She was giving us all manner of crap the entire first half as we watched on a TV in the tailgating lot. The second half whenever ISU would score we wouldn't say a word, just smile and nod at her. To this day she says that game is the reason she will never talk crap during a game ever again.

This bi-annual thread is always so lame. Don't go looking for trouble and you'll be fine. Wear your ISU gear with pride but don't be an a**hole.

I'll be there tomorrow and have only missed one Cyhawk game (2013 - brother got married that day!) in 21 years.

I've been to CyHawk probably 6 times over in IC going back to 1999. I've had pretty mixed experiences. Like others have said, if you are relatively thick skinned you're fine. It's actually pretty hilarious watching grown a$$ adults act like complete toddlers. Most of my in stadium experiences have been fine other than some occasional ice getting thrown at me. Quite honestly, the 40's-50's age fans are worse than the students. These guys grew up during the Fry run and just can't get past the fact that Iowa State is no longer dog nuts. Iowa fans are just kind of sh!t heads in general. I've been to a lot of non Iowa State games in Kinnick and they treat the visiting fans like crap.
