Rape cover up, rhabdo, racism, nepotism.

What in the name of all that is unholy would qualify as a massive scandal?
Freerents sleeping with the AD or maybe a cheerleader. Giving that money to the children's hospital instead of the government in taxes has endured him to the EIU faithful. They love his good ol boy attitude and that he recruits and plays a lot of players from the state of Iowa. Wins enough to keep the fan base in check, they still have a lot that remember the 60's and 70's when they were setting the all time record for winless seasons in a row and are now afraid to move away from him because they understand with a bad hire they are now Illinois or Indiana on the football field.

What’s really sad to me is that there are still Hawkeye fans who will honestly say that they beat ISU this season.

And scored 40.

I guess this goes in the game watch thread since I'm re-watching the game:

1st half:
- One of the big runs by Kaleb Johnson was sprung by a blatant hold, #15 Iowa held Malik Verdon who was in position to make the tackle at the line of scrimmage. Yes holds get called/missed all the time
- Cam Smith! I've seen "Smith" on the jersey about 3 times now and wondered who it was. He's not a name I've heard, but he aided in a goal-line tackle that saved the first half from getting out of hand
- Overall, re-watching the 1st half wasn't as bad as it seemed. Abu Sama in particular had some good run. Becht was just a hair off on most of his throws.

Did not think refs were bad and Iowa has nothing to complain about. There were a few obvious holds on Iowa missed that resulted in big plays (the one you mention being most obvious - just had a handful of jersey from behind).

Verdon was struggling to get free from him, like get off me bro! I didn't see it real-time and overall had no complaints about the refs. Except maybe the clock management at the end.

Kirk probably had a better chance of bedding Gary Barta than Beth Goetz.

Iowa did a nice job of keeping the field tilted and when things are like that, it seems worse than it is from an outside perspective. I think ISU's players knew they could get some things going if they could just hold it off enough to halftime.

Imo Sama will find his and Becht has looked kind of ratcheted up to start each game which is natural.

I'd guess the coaches love just getting the win but also having so much film to look into for corrections at the perfect time (bye).

Wonder how many of their players will skip the Hawk bowl game? And then with all the players they lose they are looking at playing at Ames next year. Going to be fun times in Iowa City.
