Are you talking about basic daily stuff or WSHTF stuff?

I keep at least 1 extra of basic daily supplies-condiments, toiletries, first aid, basic food we regularly consume, CPAP supplies, etc. Love him dearly, but (as an example) my husband is notorious for grabbing the last bottle of salad dressing and not telling me until he's out & then gets grumpy because he doesn't have any. So I try to stay one step ahead of him & frequently inventory. TP, paper towels, Kleenex, trash bags - I keep a good supply on hand. I also try to keep stuff for cold, flu & allergies on hand. I also have a food saver and use that to vacuum pack leftovers. There are just some items I can't make just for 2 (chili, lasagna, etc). Our freezer is usually full. We get a 1/2 beef every 1-1.5 years. (Totally worth the initial expense!) And medications - we get those refilled as soon as possible so we don't run out. I also carry about 3 days worth with me at all times.

The WSHTF stuff - I would love to be more organized and have a few more things. My parents bought us a big box of freeze dried emergency food for Christmas two years in a row. I think they're good until 2045. LOL. I also have an emergency backpack in each vehicle. We used to have a generator that could power our home. It's on our definitely need to do again list.

my camping/backpacking gear doubles as some good emergency gear. Big box of dehydrated meals, 8 glass gallon jugs of water, propane stove with fuel, headlamps with batteries, etc

Help me compile a list of essential items you always make sure you have backups of in your house. Mine currently are: Toilet paper, toothpaste, and deodorant. (This post may be related to a recent marital discussion) The wife recent chastised me for asking her to pick up deodorant for me immediately upon opeing my back up. She also can't understand why I would want multiple back up deodorants in the storage closet.
We have 3 full size refrigerators, 1 large chest freezer, 1 wine refrigerator and 1 beverage refrigerator packed full for 2 senior citizens. Plus a food pantry full with the extra items on the table. 3.5 fully stocked bathrooms with extra tp, kleenex, etc. A basement that is so full of crap it is hard to walk through. My wife is an amateur hoarder, working on an becoming to becoming a pro. We have a generator to protect all of the refrigerators. We are good for almost any disaster lasting weeks. But I love her.

The Spouse thinks our house can't function, unless we have Milk, Bread, Butter, Eggs, Sugar, and Flour in the House.......
Mind you, I do 98% of the cooking-

If one we don't have one of those on hand, it almost as if we have to drop everything to make a grocery run.
Mind you, we live in DM, we have 6 Caseys/Fast-fresh/K&G within blocks, and a fareway within 2 miles.
This isn't 1910, when we aren't sure when the blizzard will let up enough, for me to hitch-up the oxen, to make the journey to the general store

~We run out of Eggs; "oh, whatever will we do". I don't know- eat cereal for breakfast, or a poptart, or toast, or leftover pizza, or oatmeal, or frozen waffle, etc.........

- an hour later- "who is going to make the grocery run?".............don't worry about it, one of us will drive past a grocery store in the next day or two (while going to work, or kids school, or church).

-20 mins later, I hear the garage door open, for them to return from Fareway, spending $$$$$$$$$$ on groceries, and a dozen eggs....

Might be worth keeping her amateur status intact for the Olympics.....
