DSM Register article on Aili Tanke

From the article:

“We have two freshmen that, in a normal year, you’d think, ‘Wow, they’re going to play a lot' or whatever,” Fennelly said. “This is my first year I’ve been at Iowa State, and I’ve been here a couple of years, we have 12 players and every single one of them I could put in a game tonight.”

We've never had the depth like we have this year. It is unreal that we can potentially go 12 deep if needed.

Looks like it's time for full Hockey style lineup changes

Lilly Hansford looks a little taller than Audi!! 6-3 left handed shooter! Im really intrigued to see her play! Is Mackenzie Hare most likely going to start at the 2 guard or will AJ get that starting spot?

Hansford seems like a great fit on this team. If she can knock down the three each night and use her length on defense, she will be a huge addition. She is likely competing with Harris for minutes. I think Hare is the likely starter at the 2, but it is hard to predict what Bill will do with this team. AJ was really good for a freshman last year and I would think she will be even better this year. Joens has been in a lot of the videos shared on social media. She may play more than many expect. Lots of talent and lots of lineup options. Girls need to take advantage of their opportunities on the floor because minutes will be at premium. If Bill uses a 8 player rotation, some really good players will not see the floor much. He didn't give much insight into lineups during the media day, so we will need to see what he opens the season with.

Day 17 couple from early 2000's (11+ (2+4=6) = 17)

Mary is among one of my special favorites. I was at ISU at the time and wbb team had an event with Cyclone Alley where I got to talking with Mary.

I had an #11 ISU jersey at the time and began wearing it every game for her and we had a pre-game wave ritual we did before every game.

I would go on to wear #14 for Lyndsey and #13 for Anna.

Looks like Reagan might have gotten a bit of a nose booboo in practice. From FB today.

Day 16 (10 + (2+4=6) for 16.

This is a day on the countdown I have been waiting for. It honors 2 Cyclones that got me into ISU WBB. Kim Martin and Julie Hand.

If you were among those to see these 2 you know how special they were. Kim was for younger peeps a Denae Stuckey type with a bit better offensive game and Julie Hand was the original Tracy Gahan a great shooter but if she missed a couple she would be hesitant to shoot, but she was an amazing player.

These 2 along with Tara Gunderson, Olson and Grimm laid the foundation for what ISU wbb is today.

Know the feeling…Grimm is who got me started with WBB. A friend was a grad assistant (he was one of the original power of the pops guys) and Grimm was one of his students. He invited me to go to a game and the rest is history.

With the men's AP poll out we will see the WBB's one soon. Quite curious to see where we land on the first vote which is mostly an expectation vote. Maybe have both teams in the preseason Top 10 which would be crazy cool.
