I'm guessing the regular gameday thread starters weren't going to bother with the exhibition, so I'll get things going. No TV or radio, so we're depending on the in-person attendees to let us know how we look.

Central has 18 numbered players on the roster and 9 unnumbered players. They do have a JV schedule, so perhaps the unnumbered players are the JV squad. All 18 numbered players are in the above-linked program. Only one (6-1 CeCe Moore from Waterloo West) is over 5-11.

They do return their leading scorer, Abby Johnson of Ankeny. She and Samantha Scott (of North Scott) both put up a fair number of threes last season and were reasonably successful at making them -- Johnson was a very respectable 60-132 behind the arc.

As a team they had over 19 turnovers per game and hit just under 40% from the field.

Central isn't strong in their D3 conference (5-11 in American Rivers last year). I found it strange that if they couldn't get a D2 school in that they didn't go for one of the better D3 women's programs like Wartburg or Loras.

40-17 ... not much of a contest.
Cyclones shooting 50% from the floor & 35% from 3. Biggest positive so far is only 1 TO all game (nearing halftime)

I was looking at their roster and saw they had a 6-3 girl, Allison Van Gorp, last year, who was only a junior. She also does track, where she throws shot, discus and hammer. Up until a couple of days ago, there was a story about her on their official page. I'm wondering why she's not on the basketball roster anymore.

Not much of a game, we left with 6 minutes left in the 4th, ISU was up by 50. Central was one shot and out all night long, ISU just dominated on the boards. Crocks did not start the 2nd half, still in the locker room. Crowed was decent for a practice game, would guess the bottom bowl was about 1/3 full, not many students at the game, maybe 20 in the upper deck.

Nice turn up game for ISU,
