Jefferson is very good at on-ball defense away from the basket. Has already had multiple steals in those scenarios. His reputation before iowa state was this.
What I've seen our problem is so far is we are not very connected yet defensively. Meaning, after double teams on the ball we've left the lane wide open for easy layups if we don't get a steal. Hopefully this can get resolved
I'd be a lot more concerned if our offense was struggling at this point. No question in my mind that TJ and staff will get the D rounded into shape.

What's funny is how many were complaining about the offense when they've put up some big numbers the last two games vs. very good teams. And that was with foul trouble and some clunky moments.

Hopefully they can get CU but these first two games were great to show where ISU is vulnerable so they have something to build from.

Offense is much more potent this year with some improvement still available. Defense is worse so far this year but very coachable stuff. That will improve
Yep, just late on the help quite often, and it looks like they know what to do, but are a quarter second late in doing it sometimes.

Those announcers BLOW.

Glad we get the other 2 for todays game.
I thought the PxP guy was decent, especially considering he seems to be a local guy. The color commentator treated the game like his personal stand up comedy hour, and man does he love himself.

The new bigs on the roster all run the floor well so they have the ability to move and communicate on defense better than what we've seen so far. They will get there!

Keshon is an fn beast. Absolutely willed the Clones to victory. Lipsey needs to be a lot better, uncharacteristically bad fouls on his part keeping him out of the game.

Dayton is a really good team, this will be a solid OOC win to build that #1 seed resume and, yes, #1 seed should be a realistic goal.
Think about how rough that is for Dayton coming from a mid major conference and being within a whisker of beating UNC and ISU to beef up the OOC resume.

As impressive as Keshon has been these past couple of games CuJo is the guy we most need on the court. He plays as intense of D as Lipsey or Gilbert but is never in foul trouble. Doesn’t turn it over, rebounds, and is our only reliable shooter (at the moment). He also doesn’t seem to wear down as the game goes on, he’s at the same level all game. He’s become so consistent that it almost seems to go unnoticed at times.

It’s like he wanted to replace Walton in being a distraction the entire game. Unfortunately, Walton was a lovable guy (as long as your team wasn’t playing and were trying to watch the game). This guy is just trying too hard.

As much as Bilas’s complaining about every rule and problem with the NCAA gets old, it’ll be refreshing to have him today.
