Auburn is going to be ranked #2 with lots of #1 votes, surely we can't drop too far for a last second loss to the #2 team on a neutral court.

Doesn't Kenpom start phasing that stuff out as the season goes along though? I seem to remember by the new calendar year he pretty much removes all of the prior season stuff and simply goes by the current season performance.

Yeah it phases out, but it's usually a good thing that they take incoming/outgoing talent into consideration early in the year.

Drake is a rare case where they should have ignored that they lost most of a #53 team and brought in D2 players. Conventional wisdom says they should have been worse to start the year, it's upside down.

Call me crazy but ISU may be #3 come Monday

I truly think Iowa fumbled the bag with DeVries. They likely could have gotten him if they were smart and parted ways with Fran.

It was just a bonus they got the kid.

Iowa would have been better off rolling the dice on 3-4 coaches over an entire generation of Fran. This last missed opportunity is just the worst of many.

It genuinely makes me sad. I grew up a huge Iowa basketball fan, it's so incredibly mediocre now compared to then. Lick just scarred the program for life, they're totally paralyzed.

I won't be surprised if we move up to #3.
That would be awesome and it would be justified, but I'm doubtful it will happen. Would love to be wrong on that! My guess is we might remain at #5 or maybe drop a notch or two.

Being 100% honest, in 2010 I was very jealous that Iowa hired a serious coach and ISU settled for a gimmick hire to excite the fanbase.
