Here we go again, lolI don't know about "elite" (that word is so over used), but what I do know is he's the greatest football coach in ISU's history. If that's not good enough for you, then I guess that's your issue.

I'm not surprised to see Gunner disagree with that statement. They're the same people who second guess the greatest football coach in ISU history, the coach who is currently one game away from playing for a Big 12 Championship and an NCAA playoff spot.
I think we should consider that the team this year may be not quite as good defensively as last year, but a magnitude of order better offensively.
Which is what is needed to be a Final Four team.

Great point. Both sides need to be in like the top 40 of metrics.I think we should consider that the team this year may be not quite as good defensively as last year, but a magnitude of order better offensively.

Don’t forget about Heise. I suspect he will be a lot better in the second half of the season.3&D
I really think Milan and Cujo giving us multiple elite 3pt shooters could be huge if they can do it, and we have others who can attack basket.
Big Heise fan here!Don’t forget about Heise. I suspect he will be a lot better in the second half of the season.

God, that was AWESOME.I remember that, was at ISU at the time. I still, to this day, don't understand the freak-out at the end of the game by the CU coach. Thigpen left the floor a mile before the three point line. If he wanted to argue weather or not he got it off in time, fine, but how is it a question weather his feet were behind the line or not?

Sounds like lost identity to meWhile doing that, we should consider that it doesn't mean we're suddenly a poor or bad defensive team. We'll still be excellent there, too.
Not sure, but I think he may have been arguing that Justice didn't release the ball until after he landed well inside the 3 point line (although he clearly did).I remember that, was at ISU at the time. Hope the pool contains a lot of chlorine.Big Dawg and Jefferson cooling their heels at the pool. Well deserved relaxation.
I believe that the identity or culture of this team will always be defense. But it isn't like "just add water=instant, great defense." If that were the case, everyone would do it. It takes hard work, communicating and working together to truly be elite. I think they have the pieces to be much better defensively than they are right now. Remember last year when we were looking at potential Final Four teams....They had to be in the top 20 in both offense and defense...or somewhere near there...I wouldn't be surprised if we'll be in that area come March. While doing that, we should consider that it doesn't mean we're suddenly a poor or bad defensive team. We'll still be excellent there, too.
