Hassel has some of the dumbest Iowa State takes I've ever heard. And this one is definitely up there.

The Cyclones might lose to KSU, but it would have absolutely nothing to do with the fans.
Number one, have you read this forum? This thread? Some of the fans here are the most neurotic on the planet.

Number two, I didn’t see the full bit, but the video crew is in the habit of editing these to fit their purpose.

Haven't read through the thread, but just realized Friday is CMC birthday (45). A victory on Saturday would be a nice present for him.
He is so young! To put this in context, Bear Bryant was 45 Years old when he became the HC @ Alabama (after coaching at Maryland, Kentucky and Texas A&M). I'm not saying MC will go somewhere and become Bear Bryant, but it just shocks me how young he is. He literally has the CFB World in front of him regardless of whether it is a super legacy at Iowa State or an attempt at something else elsewhere.

Time will tell. :)

Oh no doubt. In the bit Hassel said that ISU fanbase's nervous energy will cost the Iowa State FB team the Big XII championship.

I won't argue with you at all about what the mental/nervousness state of the Cyclone fans will or won't be, but it will have zero effect on the football game outcome.

Anyone who believes that it will is dumb.

Can you just imagine Campbell being injected with "truth serum" after Saturday and if they lose he goes "yeah, it wasn't our lack of execution. our guys just got choked because of the nervous vibes the fans were putting out there towards them." lol

Video crew? The tweet you posted was from some slapdick with an ISU logo as their profile picture.

I was there for both. At the '91 game, they just opened the gates and send the ticket takers home. They figured if you were crazy enough to show up, you should get in. Maybe 5,000 actual attendance. Students were in the upper deck corners making snow angels.
My uncle said they carried beer in and planted it in the snow banks in the seats

I'm fully prepared to get heartbroken tomorrow.

I expect it to play out as follows or similar:

-ISU gets out to a 14-0 lead by the 2nd quarter. Things are looking good.
-they shut down KSU and get the ball back, but on their own possession, KSU blocks a punt, get a FG.
-The rest of the game is a bunch of weirdness with KSU chipping away, ending in a 23-20ish KSU win in the last 30ish seconds.

Yuck....sure hope not.....but KSU is pesky....certainly don't want to spot them points....but they special teams always good and it'll be a grinder.

Get out of my head.

I might put together a Bingo card for two categories:

Plays ISU needs to make but doesn't like dropped INTs, catch on the sideline, etc.

Disaster plays: pick 6, offsides on 1st and goal at the 1/2 yard line, and what have you.

I DO love how this current team has found different ways to win all season, but '05 in Lawrence wasn't THAT long ago.

Just wait, the Professor is going to come out a much more aggressive game plan than we normally see.

Gotta feeling he's gonna put more in the box to stuff the run and trust our excellent dbacks to play man coverage, especially if their #1 receiver really has declared to enter the portal.

Nah, KSU will go up 14-0 in the 1st quarter and then our defense starts figuring things out. We get it to 14-10 before K-State gets a late TD, going up 21-10 at the half. 2nd half is a slugfest with some weirdness, as you put it, but the Clones just can't get it done.

ISU - 31
KSU - 38
