This brought to mind something I’ve been thinking about…how long unyil there is a cfb “NIT”?

This isn’t a bad idea. You can’t expand the CFP beyond 16 because it adds too many games. But, a second tournament to replace the bowls (or use them as 1st round games seems possible). Add NIL money to the mix if you need to like they’re doing for basketball.

Yeah I can see BYU being a very attractive team for the Alamo bowl. They will bring a ton of fans plus tv exposure. Plus BYU also did not play Colorado in the regular season

....and ISU never travels well and the fact we didn't play the Buffs either. What's with the love for BYU?

And then we get to play Colorado in MBB three times this year, LOL. Four if the Big 12 tourney lines up.

Why not five!

Colorado sneaks into the NCAA tournament as a #11 seed.

They're not great but they'll have opportunities for big wins in the Big 12.

They've already banked the UConn win, which hopefully will age well.

Bumps into #2 Iowa State in the third round in Indianapolis in the NCAA tournament.

If you look at one of my previous posts I said I felt Iowa State and BYU would both be considered for the spot to go against Colorado. I totally agree. I was there against Washington State and had an amazing time

According to Deon no one on his team will sit out
If USC decides to get rid of Lincoln Riley, I could see Prime going to USC. Otherwise, he is probably going to the NFL with Shadeur. It might be a challenge to make that a package deal, though.

CFP or bust for me. I just can’t get excited about bowls anymore.
I think I might be different if it was somewhere new. Only possible exception is Alamo.

It also doesn't help that the NY6 bowls are now playoff games. If those were still around and we ended up in one of those, I'd definitely be interested. But going 10-3 (if we lose CCG) and going to Orlando or Memphis just doesn't really excite me.

If BYU had lost, I actually had the discussion with my brother-in-law after our game that they should just decline a bowl and have Saturday's game be the best end to the season. If we couldn't go to the CCG or the playoff, let the way that game ended be the end to the season.

The teams most likely to land the top picks in the draft include...

Jacksonville
Las Vegas
NY Giants
New England
Carolina
NY Jets
Tennessee
Cleveland

Some of those teams don't need a quarterback (e.g., Jacksonville, New England, Carolina given that Bryce Young has looked better lately and maybe they'll give him another year to try one more time). Some of those teams don't need a coach (e.g., New England) though many of them will need both.

One of those teams would have to have already fired their coach or fire their coach to hire the Father and make it clear Shadeur is going to refuse to play for any other team if he's drafted.

Maybe the team can work out some friendly agreement (with New York's thumb on the scale) to send a team a few picks to switch orders to accommodate them not drafting Shadeur and causing a crisis.

If we go to Orlando, there are Magic games in town on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday.

Williams and Blum talked about putting together a package for the bowl game. They need 163 people. I haven’t seen anything about where to express interest. Therefore I’ve started this thread

I’m good for 2-3 spots.
Assuming the prices are competitive (near going rates for flights and hotel), I would consider taking the charter.

Thanks! This would be charter flight from Des Moines, ground transportation and hotel. I know we would fill the CFP game, more curious on interest for the Alamo Bowl as the vendor we use isn’t convinced it’s worth anyone’s time if we can’t fill 160+ spots.
If we are selected for Alamo, there are six of us that would go.

I'll give my two cents from talking with other Cyclones today, you'll have no problem filling a charter to the Alamo Bowl. Any other bowl outside the CFP definitely won't be super well attended.
