My thought, after the initial wtf! was that this is the way of emphasizing how "hard" ranching is. To drive home that point once again. And now we have two episodes to primarily focus on Jaime/Beth/Casey/the ranch and not so much the ranch's staff.Anybody else think the killing off of Colby was completely unnecessary and terrible writing? What was the point of it? Everybody understands that things are against the ranch and adding another death to a side character no less was stupid writing
Someone said it earlier I believe. But I think a Rip spin off show with the Yellowstone name is in the worksYeah I thought last night was strange. I had the same thoughts, didn't really move the storylines along at all and was basically a "show off" episode for Taylor and his character. I do notice how the promos are saying season finale not series finale so makes me wonder if season 6 is already in the works. If not this was a huge middle finger to the fans if the finale is a rushed episode of closing up the storylines with some lame endings. Also take note how Rip told Llyod "when we build this back up" which makes me think maybe that is a hint that this is not the ending too.
I think they could easily get another season out of Yellowstone with the current cast. The rest of the cast is still very good even without Costner and I think they have proven that the show could continue on without Costner and not take a ratings dive. Although if Taylor does more episodes like he did last night where his character is front and center the bulk of the time it could turn fans off. He definitely has an ego to him, not sure if you have been watching any of the other shows he has created on Paramount+ but he shows up in at least 1 episode or more in each of them at some point or another. He was front and center for an episode in season 2 of Lioness where he was sleeveless and pulling off the badass look too. I love his shows but I could do without him trying to find a way to be a part of the show episodes.Someone said it earlier I believe. I think she called in a favor from an ex business associate for the jet.Taylor's shows are about 75% good content and about 25% of him stroking his own ego.
PS: Watching last night's episode. So previously Beth had to drug herself up and drive all night to visit Rip in Texas. Now she's going down to keep an eye on the horse sale and she apparently has access to a private jet? While the ranch is going bankrupt?
Oh maybe. I think she did and I forgot. My bad.I think she called in a favor from an ex business associate for the jet.
Felt real clear that they're writing Kayce and Monica out and continuing the series based around Rip, Beth and Carter rebuilding the ranch/business. There's a lot of meat on the bone there.
I always thought the land would end up with Tate and with help from the native tribe. bringing the land full circle back to the natives.I think she called in a favor from an ex business associate for the jet.

i thought she was looking at ranches for sale in texas on the plane ride down. no?I think she called in a favor from an ex business associate for the jet.

I've attended several large ranch production or dispersal sales where the ranch wined and dined the bidders, hoping they would bid more than they originally intended, similar to the setup that they showed. But to put all of that together in such a short period of time was very unrealistic. To get everything lined up, and then advertised would have taken much longer.I agree about last night.
I get it, it was TV and the Yellowstone huge ranch that does things over the top, but the auction was what I honed in on as not realistic. I've been to several farm auctions where millions of dollars of equipment and land were up for sale and at best 4H'ers selling sloppy Joe's, hot dogs, and coffee. LOL.
I've been thinking that they will give the ranch to the reservation where in then becomes tribal land and can no longer be taxed and no longer used by people trying to profit from it. Kayce's family is part of the tribe and has an agreement to continue to operate the ranch, now owned by the tribe, under a long-term lease for let's say $1. The tribe now gets to use the land as well for ceremonies.I always thought the land would end up with Tate and with help from the native tribe. bringing the land full circle back to the natives.
What else is there? Watched some other series, this one winsThis show went off the rails seasons ago. I watch to laugh at it. Can't get through an episode in one sitting.
