LOL. Was thinking the same thing. Kept peeking into that game. ND has beaten three different top 10 teams (USC, Texas, UConn). I get some of those were at home but still, man, they are playing some ball.

And who is a better college player than Hannah Hidalgo? Answer: Nobody.
Yeah…she was impressive last night. Am going to have to pay more attention to her moving forward.Never thought I’d see Paige Bueckers go 0- from deep. But she still found ways to get her points and help UConn out.

I haven't peeked in at the UConn board but will before our game Going to assume they are a little salty right now. There were a handful of good opinions on both ISU and Iowa following the Cy-Hawk game (in their general forum).

There is a Big 12 thread there but really nobody there.

Well, that sucks for this season but will be good for next year and best for her not to try to keep playing through it. Seems like they hit that 10 game limit and had to make a tough joint decision.

They mention exhausting "conservative" measures. Wonder if there is a surgical option now that she is sitting out?
I noticed at every home game that KH was always stretching out 1:1 with a trainer. This was during pre-game warmups while the rest of the team was doing their regular "routine. ". I thought it was a bit odd, but in hindsight maybe it was a precaution due to her hip condition?

Eastern Illinois looks like a pretty easy game before UConn.

I haven’t watched UConn this year, do we have an advantage at any position? Maybe Audi?

Audi would be it IF we can get the ball to her cleanly. UConn has a lot more speed/quickness. They can be streaky shooting outside. Bueckers has a knack of finding points one way or another. VERY clutch.

Thanks for the info. That is a big IF. Fast teams seem to be a particular weakness so far.

Maybe if we can get off to a nice start we can control game pace.

Do you think it would help with slowing the game down by some token pressure? AJ or Em putting pressure on the ball handler to give Audi time to come down the court? I know fast breaks aren't going to be good as you give up a 2-3, but could help a little, depends on the opponent.

I think AJ is our best defender, but she has a tendency to get quick fouls. I do like the idea of trying pressure the ball handler

Looks like it finally happened, we dropped out of the top 25. Sitting at 27th.

We are the first preseason top 10 team to drop out completely. Shades of 2021 Football team.

Right now I am fine with this as it takes the target off our back. We just need to work on our issues and work our way back into the rankings by our play on the court.

Agreed, I'm interested in seeing this team play a "normal" team.

No In-state rivalry stuff, not playing the #2 and #4 team in the nation, just a regular P5 team. MTSU was the closest to that being ranked #64 in the NET.

Oklahoma State (NET 28) will be a real test on how the Big 12 season will go.

The game this weekend is going to depend mightily on the mental state of the team. You’ve in the midst of 2 of the last three games. Neither team has a win against anyone with a pulse. OSU has been putting up a ton of points. Will I be surprised if we lose? Not at all. Win or lose, it’s going to be more about how it happens. As always…our offense has to show up or it will be another long day. Biggest difference I see is they get more scoring from their starters. Bench production looks similar. Going to be interesting.
