Sounds like the Colin Cowherd philosophy. “Of course I’m rooting for the favorites, that’s who the fans want to see, sports is better when the Yankees/Cowboys/Crimson Tide dominate everything, nobody wants to watch a couple of scrappy underdogs try to win a championship they don’t deserve”
It makes sense though.

The CFP field was watered down with unearned, DEI bids and byes. The product suffers for lack of Alabama, Michigan, Oklahoma, and USC.

The result is everybody loses.

So instead of putting more dollars in the hands of the value creators (money that will trickle down in the form of guarantee games, second tier bowl games, and interest in the sport), they are disincentivized.

We should be careful of biting the hand that feeds or they may choose to leave us behind rather than lift our little boats with their rising tide.

Behind you
As good as tOSU is looking, if it comes down to them needing a winning drive in the next few games I still have zero faith in Will Howard's ability to do it.

I don’t even know what you do if you’re Oregon

On some level though they got to where they are because they avoided Ohio State a few weeks ago with OSU's loss to Michigan.

I know they said they didn't want to penalize teams for being in a championship game, but getting absolutely whacked like this would have had to have knocked them down.

Probably would have the follow on effect of knocking Boise down as well since their only resume was 'lost close to Oregon'.

I think they are playing an angry OSU team who is finally fully using there 20 million dollar talent
Yeah the talent is unreal and if Howard isn’t falling apart they just look like a juggernaut.

I’m not sure what Oregon even says at halftime, play for pride I guess?

If some of their NFL latent said they were done I honestly would say it’s the right call

You know, the silver lining in ASUs loss is watching Texas probably getting boat raced by osu. Also I think having the Sugar Bowl delayed works against Georgia mentally. They saw a Big 12 team taking Texas to double OT and they will have 24 hours to think about it.

This is why people ******** about Indiana and SMU getting blown out was so incredibly stupid. Blowouts happen. Right now Oregon looks far worse than either of them. Does that mean they didn't deserve to be im the playoff?
According to Herbie, yes.

But the playoff becomes meaningless if you just put in the “big boys” of the B1G and SEC year after year. If they want a P2 playoff, they should just have a P2 playoff; schedule their entire seasons between themselves and some FCS teams, and just break away already.

I know that means the financial end of the ACC/Big 12/etc, but if we’re basically already just their well-paid butlers or whatever, I hardly see the point.
