Confirmed by who, the initial article that said he's expected to interview? I also read that ALL of their initial interviews are scheduled to be via Zoom..
Confirmed by a large donor. They are doing a mix of zoom and in person

I understand that majority of this is hearsay but everything ive been told from this source has been legit. about as close to the program as you can get.

You're "assuming his salary is good enough to survive on"? Really? No **** it's good enough to survive on, he could hang it up tomorrow, never work another day in his life & still live more than OK.

Personally I'm not worried, what downside is there for him to take an NFL interview. Gains more insight into what NFL teams look for/what that process is like, makes more professional connections, etc. I think he knows better than to go to Chicago of all places.

I was kidding on the above :)

Yeah Pete Carroll is interested in the Bears job per insiders. Pete could write a great book about his coaching journey starting out as a newbie under Johnny Majors at Ames.
Earle Bruce but yes he was a secondary cosch at ISU early in his career (78)

He is interviewing with the Bears, that is confirmed. Going to Chicago or is there already
WRONG!! Interviewing will be done virtually.
Then some will be brought for in person interviews. A couple I believe have already had in person.
Bears front office releasing info after each has happened. THEY have said NOTHING about CMC. Only clickbait “ influencer types” spreading the cmc stuff….

Are we sure that they are releasing all of the interviews? I thought that if someone was in the NFL right now, all teams have to say that they are talking to them?

Maybe it was initially said they wanted to hire an Iowa State coach and the media took that to mean Campbell, but instead they were really talking about Pete Carroll. :campbell:

If we lose CMC, Alex Golesh 1st, Nate Scheelhaase 2nd choice as next ISU coach?
I could very well be wrong, but I feel like folks have said Golesh can be a little tough to work with and they didn’t miss him that much. I’d take Nate in a second though

I am struggling to understand why Campbell would leave now.
Maybe he doesn’t like the way college has become with nil and paying players, the way the sec and Bigten are going to end up trashing the sport for everyone outside of 20 teams. Or maybe he thinks he has taken Isu to a level he doesn’t see getting any better and wants to walk away on a high note? I don’t think he gets the job but this probably is not going to help recruiting for sure.

He's a diva

I don’t think he’s a diva, I just think he has never had to read a defense, and it caught up with him. He roughed it out in a rough season and I respect him for that, but a lot of that roughness was self induced due to holding onto the ball WAY too long.

Speaking as a Bears fan, id say the overwhelming favorites are Ben Johnson and Joe Brady

Disaster waiting to happen with either of those guys. They can run an offense wonderfully, but I can’t see either one being the culture guy the bears need.

Honestly, I’d take Matt Nagy again over either of those guys.

Haven’t seen the official Bears FB account post that they completed their interview with him yet. Apparently they just finished with Pete Carroll.

Bright lights, big city, big payday and fired in two years vs really good salary at a place that you are successful and the fans love you for as long as you want. We'll see, I guess.
MOST of the fans love you*

I swear we could win a natty and the usual suspects would still be complaining
