What is dumb about that @CyDude16? Please explain, I'm interested.

Because they’re not remotely similar situations, as was explained to you. hoiberg’s goal was always the nba, and when he had heard from his doctor that time may be running out given his condition, he took the chance. Sorry if you can’t understand that.

Now he's still alive and not an NBA coach, so one goal achieved and the other not so much. Big goal achieved for sure.

At the time he made the decision, his heart condition was going to limit how many more years he could coach (remember when he stopped wearing ties?). Obviously with modern medicine and science, that’s changed but again, in my opinion they’re very different situations.

Seems like if stress was your biggest concern for your health then big time competitive sports at all might not be your best life choice, especially at the highest level..Maybe just retire and live on a ranch in Wyoming would be less stressful.

I’m not his doctor, only GMs of every NFL team. I don’t know the specifics of what was said just the general idea. But as I understood it, he only had a number of years left coaching at the time.

I truly believe that Campbell wants to eventually be an NFL GM. And honestly, you don't get that job straight out of a college HC job. So, making the move makes sense to me. Now, whether he actually does it is another matter.

So I'm out of the 'loop', is Campbell off to the Bears now?

:jimlad:
no, this whole thread is an argument about him interviewing. its extremely unlikely he is offered the job, and i would think even more unlikely he takes it
