I saw a couple of mocks that had him being drafted, and I think he would have done fairly well in an all-star game and the combine. Guess we will never know now.
To be fair, it's quite difficult to mock the first two rounds, but it's nearly impossible to mock rounds 5-7. Teams often take fliers. It's a complete shoot at the hip. I think it's around a 15% success rate that these players end up signing a second contract.

Gronowski I think is an upgrade over their previous QBs since Stanley, but they’re losing their only productive player on offense and have zero pass catchers.

Edit:typo
Oh, they always find a RB somewhere. It's the O-line that needs to be really really good so the run game can be consistent.

Their offense this year was basically 30 runs per game for 1.5 yards each, and then KJ would break a 60 yard run for a TD. Sometimes two.

I've no idea if Captain Naperville is any good or not, but he sure won't dazzle in the KF offense. But if he is not terrible, he does seem to have good intangibles - wins a lot anyway. That's something they've lacked as well - leadership and moxie.

Local Chicago news station just did a report on "gronowski to Iowa" story, including interview. Reported he is receiving over 7 figures in NIL funds, and that expectation was he would have been drafted. But he will be making more $ in NIL than a rookie in the NFL. After a year in Iowa's program, will he still get drafted? Hope it works for Gronowski. If not, he will still leave college with more in his bank account than 99.9% of us.
