Good Lord, man, what is your obsession with the flagrant call?
People crying that it was a dirty play by ASU are just ridiculous and just don’t understand basketball.

Also “obsession” is a little much. Is this not a message board for discussing such things?

This is great!!
With ISU's history of fan-travel, it wouldn't surprise me if attendance was close to even.

If not, audible for sure, as TV viewer. On several big plays/shots by Iowa State, it sounded like minimum Hilton South. It wasn't just "home fans loud gasp." It erupted.

It had to be very close to 50/50, even with the ASU students there. It sounded like a Big 12 tourney game in KC.

The play was dangerous and not warranted. The officials agreed. Dirty? Perhaps not. I don't think the defender had malicious intent. Don't know why you are in full on white knight mode.

The defender had no shot at a basketball play. Flagrant 1 was a good call in that situation.

I'm glad Keshon wasn't seriously hurt. His head bounced off the floor.

There was NO play on the ball. If there had been the ASU player might have had a chance at avoiding that flagrant upgrade.

I do believe that the ASU player was trying to get in on the play, hesitated, and KG's slide move insured the need to have a foul called. Pursuing contact is part of today's game too as a lot of contact is subjectively ignored in the basketbrawl environment of today's college game.

Several people saying it was “dangerous” and another said “dirty”. Too lazy to go back and link posts while on my phone.

A search of this thread for "dirty" shows the only mentions of it are you talking about people calling it dirty, and other people saying it wasn't dirty.

Yep looked like he was going to maybe go block it then decided to pull up and try and avoid a foul but it was too late. Didn't look malicious to me just indecisive. Still a flagrant

I called it dangerous. It was. Doesn't mean it was dirty.

I'm not sure how someone would think it wasn't dangerous with the end result.

Are all coaching Hurleys, asshats?
Yes. Did Bobby yell at a ref “Don’t turn your back on me, I’m the brother of the best coach in the sport”.
Before this game, I thought it was only Dan that was. Then I saw Bobby was not much different. He gave the refs a look during the game, when he was really irate, like he was Beelzebub from hell. It was kind of scary.

I just finished watching the Bobby Hurley post game presser. This guy loves to throw his players under the bus. He is absolutely insufferable for a .568 winning percentage coach who has never made it out of the 1st Round of the NCAA Tournament. He has a very similar vibe to me as Fran McCaffery.
Check out his bio page on the University website :https://thesundevils.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/coaches/bobby-hurley/5345

It's a shrine to his accomplishments looks like it was designed by a marketing firm. Even has a Duke pic on it. LOLZ

That’s a call you don’t take on the postgame show.

It's such a dumb ******* thing to whine about anyway. We were up 8 with 3:30 to go and he's getting 2 FT either way. That extra possession we got resulted in a turnover anyway. The call quite literally had no effect on the outcome of the game, whereas your team routinely handing us the ball in the final 5 did.

Whether it's Fran or a Hurley it's not hard to see how a coach's mental makeup effects their team. When everything is everyone else's fault, it's hard to facilitate much mental toughness within your team.
