I have a hard time believing this team’s problems are only Momcilovic being out. And even if that really is our only issue, it’s still unacceptable to lose to K-State at home.

1 seed is done and over with. Most teams in that discussion won’t have a 19 point home quad 3 loss, and will have 4 or less losses overall.
we didn't have the NIL to do better. KSU paid 2 mil for Hawkins. Our highest paid guy is 1/4 of that.
i hope everyone has had a chance to calm down. remember that 18-24 year-olds playing a game is meant to be fun to watch and not worth overreacting, saying and doing stupid things, or ruining your day.

There's only ever been one team to get a #1 or #2 seed with a Quad 3 loss at home during the season.
2023 Houston lost at home by a point to a 16-16 Temple team in their last year in the AAC.
Root for a 3 seed for the Clones, I think that's their ceiling now, provided they stop the bleeding.
Maybe the committee extends you a little grace if Milan comes back and this team flips the switch. Maybe. But this is a terrible loss to take.

You seem confused, I was always sticking up for BRE when people were trashing him. He ended up my favorite player last year.
I do wonder if at some point we need to reassess our starters playing 30 minutes in buy games. We look out of gas and this seems to happen every year
And Hawkins has been mediocre most of the year. Not today, but most of the season he's been underwhelming.
It felt like we were sleepwalking through the entire game, Hilton crowd included. The whole thing felt off…….

Racist comments and death threats coming at players is not a good look. Be better than that!
The things wrong are mainly the turnovers and defensive rebounding. 18 turnovers both today and Monday. Heck even if he cut it down to something like 14 on Monday we build enough cushion that Zona would have never even been in posisiton to hit that prayer. This team needs to really value the ball a lot better. Such a far cry from the Floyd teams with Jacy Holloway, they didn't socre much, but they valued each possession. Program needs that right now. And like TJ said in the post game, need to get away from the ISO ball and get the ball moving.
Might be hard to stop the bleeding with road games at KU, Houston and K State.
It's too bad we had to lose to KSU to break our home streak. It's not the worst loss you could have. We are not completely broken.
Obviously, we are not playing as well as earlier in the season. That says a few things to me. Other teams are playing up to our level of defense. We aren't as good as we thought and/or are just are not playing well right now. Big 12 teams are not going to let Jones have too many free looks anymore.
I will be interested to get your opinion of us the next time we play really well. You are a typical high/low fan, at the moment.
I was at the game. The crowd tried, unfortunately there's only so much you can do in a game like that.
Without seeing the tweets that he was sent, I do wonder if they came from gamblers. Someone that bet Iowa State money line and he missed a game sealing free throw, I could see that being the case. Whether it was from a gambler or an Iowa State fan, completely unacceptable and disgusting.

I'm telling you, the whole team had this game circled. This was their Super Bowl. They wanted it more.
Within the context of relative strength of teams & expectation, it's for sure top 5.
