I’m glad basketball has given her the opportunity to get her grad degree in a program that helps her long term. What people often don’t understand is that academic diversity is huge in one's career. Even if ISU had the same program as CU, learning from other faculty is a very big deal.
Yes, she was kind of like Morgan Kane: she participated in senior night activities, and we didn't really know if she might grad transfer or just hang it up until she entered the portal in late March. She'll probably get hugs from both the players and coaches in the post-game handshake line. Unless she scores 32 points to lead Colorado to an upset victory.
Great for her if she can get a Grad Degree from CU. I'm sure that played a part in her decision to leave. She had a pretty rough senior year at Iowa State with her minutes decreasing significantly as the year progressed, I'm sure that played a part too. I'm glad she has found some success at CU. She always seems to have a great attitude.
In their game last night vs. Arizona, she scored 8 points in the first quarter and didn't score again. Her numbers this year at CU mirror her numbers last year at ISU.
She had a very uneven season at Iowa State. She played an average of 30 plus minutes a game over the first 14 games last year. She struggled and her minutes by the end of the season were decreased significantly. She had several games where she played less then 10 minutes down the stretch.
Sadly, her shooting was a lot like Hansford. She just couldn’t find the hole for some reason in Big 12 play. In too many cases that becomes like an avalanche picking up speed going downhill.
Hansford has to have the Yips. I've never seen a player go from 45% 3pt shooter to 18.5%. I was really hoping the UCF game would be her breakthrough. Even Diew still had a 30% 3 pt percentage.
Go watch Jan 29th vs BYU to see her ceiling game! Scoring off the dribble. Sometimes it takes getting off the leash to find out what you COULD do.
Perhaps you’ve noticed a TO after a dribble drive and they are on the bench in under 30 seconds? I sure have.
Is a one seed difference that big of a change? Looks like we may have just traded places with VT or Nebraska.
He said in an interview that all Iowa State had to do was win the games they are supposed to and they would be in. This kind of aligns with that. Win what you are supposed to and you creep up.
We went from last 4 in to 10. Technically jumping 4 other teams including Iowa who beat us + Top 5 win. So yes, it’s very odd.
Unless he bumped teams around for procedural reasons. But it wouldn't make sense to put ISU over Iowa right now. Iowa had two very solid Quad 1 wins in the past week, which is two more than ISU has had all season.
