Local companies owned by rich "boosters" will overpay. The Jerry Jones wannabes will always write a check to be important and have access.
But we have also been through a strong economy. Throw a recession in and smaller or local companies (aka Wilson Toyota) might find it tougher to throw $50k at an athlete when $10k will work.
What about large corporations? Right now we are in the wild west of NIL, but things will settle down. And marketing folks who write the checks will realize they are wasting money on most Athlete Spokespeople. 80% of the commercials with NIL athletes (even Pro) I have no idea who the athlete is! They'd make a better investment hiring another Terry Crews. Or they need to be like Experian and tell me who Flau'jae Johnson is![]()
The market inflation is due to the first group.
I don’t think there is any material ROI revelation coming, as most of the NIl isn’t looking for ROI
