Nebraska gives Scott Frost much deserved extension to only fire him.

Those have all been said to me by friends in Omaha.

I think seeing him at the bars in Lincoln was a common occurrence. My favorite rumor was he had a margarita machine in the facilities.

LOL

He was known around this time to hog the Athletic Department's golf simulator alongside friends, much to the chagrin of the actual golf program who wanted to use it to practice their sport.
Dylan was reportedly ready to commit to Nebraska his freshman year of high school, all Frost had to do was show up to a meet-and-greet with his family in Arizona... But Frost cancelled the meeting, saying he had too many margaritas the day before and was hungover.

Don't forget the Raiola fiasco, where he was too hungover to get from the hotel to his house for a visit.

I kinda want Frost to have modest success at UCF now, just to witness the Husker butthurt.
I don’t disagree but he’s really really hard to root for. It’s more fun if he’s loving, as pure spectator.

It can be argued that what he was most afraid of, he willed into existence by his actions, but he's not necessarily wrong with the first part of that statement. He was reluctant to take the job but Matt Davidson (old roomie) and Coach Osborne kept pressuring him to be the savior. When he accepted, his demeanor was more of an obligation to his hometown state than what he truly wanted.

His first season I saw a lot of similarities with CMC's first season here and thought it would follow the same trajectory for Nebraska. When head scratching losses kept happening over and over again, he didn't handle the adversity well as we all know. It is easier to blame/regret the past for your personal failures than to own up to the situation.

Going to the big ten was not a good move for them (outside of current money). I think it would have been easier to rebuild in the b12 due to history and location. If they stayed, I think the b12 wouldn’t have blown up as much.

Pelini had roughly the same amount of wins/season on either side of the B12/B1G switch.

The best days of Nebbie football were already 10-15 years past by then.

Imo Pelini level is about as good as anyone's going to do no matter the conference or schedule. Good, not great.

I've heard he speaks in the 3rd person but still calls himself Frosty.

That's not a huge red flag like the others but I'm guessing it's kind of a lot to hang out with someone constantly in that mode.

On talk radio it seems they are pretty excited about maybe going 8-4 this year. Just seems like 8 or 9 is always going to be their ceiling for wins. Although with 18 teams, you are bound to get a season where you play nothing but teams you can beat. They have a lot of money to buy a great team, but the fans I know just seem like they have resigned themselves to never again being a major player. But oh man, that Volleyball team. Whoo-eee!

Frost set the program back another 10 years to the point where they would kill for an eight win season.

I’ve heard the same, and have no reason to believe it’s untrue, but stories like these have been popping up in Nebraska for every departing coach since Solich. Like, suspiciously similar.
Yeah, but there are stories out of Cedar Falls saying the same thing about him

Can’t believe I missed the previous paragraph in my quote. This killed me.

Around this time he attempted to siphon resources from other sports, including trying to shut down the athletic training table for the Volleyball team, which caused significant internal resentment for the Football program. The Volleyball team, who are perrenially National Title contenders in their own sport, questioned why Football was being given preferential treatment when they can't even make it to a bowl game.
