Couldn’t be more happy to have Coach Campbell extended thru 2032 and I agree $5 million per year is a steal for Iowa State given his performance.
Any chance with the $2 million buyout to leave for another P4, makes anyone a little bit nervous he might leave in the next 3 years if getting players gets to difficult. I wouldn’t blame him if he left for a school with much greater $$$, hope he stays as long as possible!

$5mil a year gives you a whole lot of leeway in passing up more money to stay where you’re happy. He’s given absolutely zero indication he’s all about chasing the $$, quite the opposite. Finding a better mix of resources, control, CFP access and expectations isn’t going to be easy, and that’s about the only reason I could see him making a move.

Got to personally meet Matt this Spring at an event, the guy is everything we have ever hoped for. One of the most down to earth coaches in a time of “look at me” as you will find. So happy to have this man as our coach!
I also met Coach Campbell at an NIL event a year ago, and he is as authentic as they come. A real solid individual, and ISU is fortunate to have him as their football coach.

Campbell is playing 5D chess. He knows that consistent success requires good people around him. Taking a pay cut for himself allows for a better chance at that. And keeps him here for the long haul, earning millions of dollars each year and continuing to build his legacy.

It's not hard to see that a coach that wants big $$$ for himself would face more obstacles to achieve the same success. Make big money for a few years, get fired, look for another job that may not come.

I had forgotten TJ signed an 8-year extension recently, too. So, TJ and CMC for nearly the same length of time, right (TJ to 2033 end of season, CMC to end of season 2032?), eight seasons?

Pollard's new contract takes him through 2030 school year, when he'll be 65.

Get the 'right' president to lead ISU, and we're cooking with green beans, aren't we?

I'm pretty sure they all through 2032.

It will be really hard for me to hold my tongue and to not publicly call those people morons.
I wasn't on the run him out of town train but he was on two years of pretty bad results for his standards. I understand the fans being frustrated but that whole thing got crazy. If they didn't lose to Ohio it wouldn't have been so frantic. Our fan base is kind of like Randy Marsh. The highs are high, the lows are really low and we can work ourselves into a frenzy.

I do think the extra covid year hurt things more than it helped and is a huge factor in those down years. 2022 was always probably going to be a tough year but the whole gambling debacle really F'd things up for 2023.

2023 was overall a successful season.
