If we lose tomorrow we will be closer to the reds than the brewers. Brewers aren't the problem now.

Exactly the kind of player you want to rent while you limp towards the end of the season. Way to go, Jed.
Tucker is a good player but he Is not a super star like Otani, Judge, Acunia, and Harper. He is in the same tier as players like Paul Goldschmidt.

Hopefully Amaya is back soon and I think tonight is his 9th game of his rehab stint so he has to be close. It's getting to the point that you gotta put a spark in this offense somehow. If Caissie is your #1 prospect that was too valuable to trade for a top end starting pitcher then he needs to be the guy that comes up and starts like 3-4 games in a row to give the OF guys a day off or DH. Since June 1 he's hit 13 HR and hit .316 in June and .333 in July. With the trade for Castro there really is no need for Berti now so just DFA him and bring up Caissie. Mo is hitting well too but he's basically a DH right now where Caissie can at least play the field.

Oh and look at this, Hoyer basically admitting buyer's remorse on Soroka

I hate to break this to you, but Amaya was just transferred to the 60 day DL a couple days ago. He's done.

Is it time to panic yet? Because I think I'm beginning to panic. Team looks TERRIBLE for an extended time now. Jed's deadline "acquisitions" are a major pfft. Offense is broke and Milwaukee is pulling away. Not good.

It's retroactive to his injury date. The move was to allow a spot to open on the 40 man roster
McGuire is the likely DFA when they activate him. He's filled in well but we can't keep 3 catchers right now. I'm sure they will hope he clears waivers and sign him back but he's played well enough I bet someone will claim him.

Seattle did not break the bank to get Suarez. They probably could have got him for Long and some pitching prospects or some combination of guys that may never pan out of us. Major fail to extend Hoyer before the trade deadline.
The Cubs FO is a cheapskate. Instead of shopping for good products, our FO digs through bargain bins hoping to find something good or slightly damaged products at good price

Likely. We need to keep an arm in the bullpen over McGuire.
