After much thought, my best-case, realistic realignment scenario.

Agree. I think the CBS (or other network/streamer) would have a lot of interesting games and teams to choose from for marquee matchups. Build a system so that the network/streamer can flex into the best games that are not $EC. With a 12 team playoff, there will be meaningful games and storylines...

We’ll see. Maybe they can join the lawsuit!

Not sure. From what I read they weren’t even close to what ESPN was willing to bid. They didn’t try very hard to keep it. Almost feels like they thought $EC was overvalued.

After much thought, my best-case, realistic realignment scenario.

Good read. Thanks for posting. While CBS passed on paying premium for the $EC, I could see them emerging as a player for rights. No offense to the Mountain West, but K State/Iowa State, TCU/Texas Tech Baylor / Oklahoma State matchups are better content for CBS Sports Network than a lot of the...

After much thought, my best-case, realistic realignment scenario.

Random thoughts on a day too hot to be outside: -These are disturbing times for the ISU athletic department, but we have flourished in an unstable environment created by an unstable conference whose two flagship members confirmed themselves as insecure jerks and backstabbing liars...

Report: OU & Texas reach out to join SEC

Very good summary. The bulk of the eco system is under serious threat. Hopefully the likes of Iowa, Purdue, Northwestern, the two Arizona schools, Utah, Wake Forest, Pittsburgh, Boston College, North Carolina State, Virginia Tech and many others like them around the country see this is coming...

Big 12 Send Cease and Desist to ESPN

Amen. This is being spun as the leftover 8 having nothing to lose and desperately pushing all chips to the middle of the table. I look it as punching back against a false narrative and insisting that reality and the truth have a voice. If these dumb asses in charge of the SEC and ESPN get their...

Big 12 Send Cease and Desist to ESPN

Don’t rule it out. ESPN is trying to corner the College Football market. If OU and Taxas had gone to the B1G Fox might have stood down. Many pieces still in play. The Worldwide Leader, the Traitors and the $EC got sloppy and they may have to pay.

    Is This Longhorn Sarcasm?

The Longhorn juggernaut carried a stellar .659 winning percentage over the final 20 years of the SWC. That was impressive compared to the .575 over the last 10 years in the SWC.

    Is This Longhorn Sarcasm?

The guy thinks he makes some decent arguments. He’s full of crap. I have to ask why after escaping from the wretched Southwest Conference did they join the Big XII. Surely with all they had to offer they could have become their own version of Norte Dame. After all the Irish were six years into...

Did ok & tex violate big12 bylaws

I am guessing a GoFundMe legal account might attract a few bucks from 8 fan bases. Seriously, I hope high level counsel has been retained for this fight. It’s time to go after these two ******** institutions and the $EC.

Wendy Wintersteen & Jamie Pollard Address the Fans

I'm not sure how the Texas BOR can be separated from the University. If they were talking on behalf of the University, they effectively are the University. Would love to get into discovery on how all this was initiated.

Wendy Wintersteen & Jamie Pollard Address the Fans

This was 100% directed at the Traitors. There’s huge $ at stake here and the 8 need to squeeze everything they can get. Don’t rule out some kind of tortious interference claim against the SEC as well. Slinking around in the background, manipulating events and trying to cause contracts to be...

PODCAST: Perspective on this morning's news, where things might be heading

I was being tongue in cheek about my progressive tax rate in an earlier post. The point you make about big donors losing tax deductions would be huge. At some point, these 'not for profits' attached to state universities will be questioned. The tail is wagging the dog. In reality Texas and OU...

PODCAST: Perspective on this morning's news, where things might be heading

This has become some kind of weird reality show. Texa$ and OU want to go live in what they believe is a high end neighborhood. They want to be seen with their "peers" who drive big cars, live in big houses and take fancy vacation all the time. They want to get away from the blue collar rabble...

PODCAST: Perspective on this morning's news, where things might be heading

I hope you are right. My pessimism is fueled by how brazen OU is in all of this. They just screwed their fellow state institution good and hard and didn't think twice about it. I can see other flagship state institutions doing the same thing (looking at you Ohio State). We've come to expect this...

PODCAST: Perspective on this morning's news, where things might be heading

We came out of the last re-alignment is better shape than ever. I'm not getting the feeling it's going to work out that way this time. It's not just the leftover 8 of the Big XII that are in the crosshairs of this. I put a lot of credence in the fact that the ESPN/$EC death star is trying to...

    And it begins…officially

At some point this all needs its own section of the tax code. The structure needs a highly progressive rate. First $40M is tax exempt, and then about a 90% - 95% rate on anything over $40M. Also, Billy Bob Booster and SEC "student athlete" need to pay FICA on this employment income. If SEC...

Does this season now take on a whole new meaning?

Could be a really meaningful season for a lot of reasons. Top of the list would be we have a really stacked roster and will be good. Any winning ISU football season is fantastic. Any chance to go to Trice and enjoy that atmosphere is awesome. The other reason it is likely to be super special is...

The End of NCAA, Beginning of Semi Pro College Athletics?

Agree. You can't have an institution or collaboration where a subset of people are constantly scheming to screw the rest for their own profit and gain. Pete Rozelle figured that out early in the life of the NFL. So much speculation in so many threads today about us to the Big 10 or the Pac 12 as...
