That was fun. I was at that game. Funny thing was we went downtown to a bar to meet up with the friend of a guy I was going to the game with, and we didn't get out of there in time to get to the game, at least when it was supposed to start. The sirens went off on the way out of the bar, so we went back in for another beer. We had no idea what was going on.

The band had already marched to the stadium when they ordered the evacuation. As they "marched" [sauntered] back past us in the parking lot on the way to...Stevens?...many of them were chanting "The band is seeking shelter...the band is seeking shelter..."

I was in the back row of the parade into the stadium with Bong (one of the drum majors) came around the corner yelling at us, "GO BACK!"

So me and my other trumpet friends went from the back of the train to the front of the train in an instant. We had to clear all the parking barriers and the people along the route as everybody else came up behind us in a melee.

Those were some heady times.

Not exactly sure.

Always best to be at the front of the train.

Where they love the governor
I was in the tailgating lot when the cop cars started flashing their lights. I was just about ready to head into the stadium with my chilly friends (some may call them "walking beers"), so I turned on the radio in my car and heard that there was a tornado on the way.

So I tried to find the best place to see it, naturally.

Awesome, awesome game.

November tornadoes are p*ssies. I think. I hope. I’m not sure.

We gave all the boxes from our move, especially wardrobe boxes, to a family on North Dakota Avenue in Ames whose roof was ripped off by that storm! The tornado skipped right over the home of some friends.

I'll never forget this day. First, my birthday. Second, a week later I would start dating the person that became my wife. Yes - you can feel sorry for her.

My friends and I were standing right outside the gates after they made us leave the stadium and a security guy was just yelling "Are you all f***ing stupid, get outta here". while we cheered and waited to be let back in.

This brought a smile to my face.. I distinctly remember chanting that. We were on our way to Hilton, and proceeded to play songs in the stands for the people taking shelter there. It was kind of a party.

I got drug to a wedding that day by my girlfriend at the time and now my wife and ironically the wedding we went to the couple is now divorced. The bride is remarried so hindsight wonder where we should have been on that day.

This was the only game I ever got my dad to go to with me. I remember walking back to C3 when they evacuated the stadium.

What a blast that game was. Has to be top five all time for me, although Campbell and co. Have really started pushing that.

What was the story on Adam Carper, he injured his knee as a SO and never played again? Also Crosby, didn't he kick two 60+ yard FG's in Boulder to beat ISU the next year, I think.

The electricity in the air was high that night. A few other games felt the same. West Virginia when juicy wiggle cut loose, OSU upset when it became apparent we might upset them are a couple. Night games are ratcheted up a few notches for energy.

Kstate when rose got the pick six was another.
