1980 Forfeit?

I was looking at ISU's all-time football schedule and noticed that we "won" a game by forfeit against Kansas in 1980.


Anyone know the story behind that?

They were so scared that we were gonna kill them they forfeited.... but no I'm assuming maybe some sanctions on them

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think I recall they used an ineligible player.

Yes, it was for using an ineligible player, Kerwin Bell.


It was a just penalty because Bell killed ISU that day. I remember ISU had a decent lead and then Bell went off and Kansas ended up winning something like 28-17.

I never heard about that game before and just stumbled across it so I figure I'd ask.
