so if we win we will see a game where the last 4 minutes turns into hack-a-clone. Or perhaps Barnes will decide to start this at the beginning of the second half.

Unfortunately, yes. The teams I don't want to play are Texas and Baylor. Nobody else scares me in the tourney.

I want another shot at Baylor. After the way both games ended, how could you not be hungry to beat them?

Im the most scarred of Baylor and Oklahoma. OU is so similar to our style of play. Hopefully Hilton South can make the difference

Conference standings from ESPN...same on Big12.com...and a link to the Big 12 tourney pairings/times.

Looks like Texas is the 6 seed and OSU is the 7 seed...so if ISU wins tonight to get 2nd they'd play the winner of the OSU/TT game...

If ISU loses they'd be the 4 seed and play WVU.

Or am I not reading that correctly?

That's wrong. Texas is 2-2 against the teams they are tied with and OSU is 3-1. KSU 1-3. That makes Texas a #7

easier path is Texas, OU, then whoever comes from the other side.

why?

option a: Texas, OU, whoever.

Texas will be coming off of a game the prior day against Tech. Now most people think Tech will get killed. Tech has been playing pretty good lately and I think that game will be close. If Texas wins, it will be a home game for Iowa State. It'll be tough to beat a team 3 times in a row but Texas, playing the following game will be a little tired for this one.

ISU wins, plays OU/OSU winner. Oklahoma State has a pretty thin bench (I think thinner than ISU) and would be tired. Oklahoma has been known to choke in the postseason under Kruger and wouldn't surprise me to see OSU get revenge on them. Iowa State will basically have another home game as well.

option B: West Virginia and Kansas

West Virginia, yikes, would like ISU to avoid them. No idea if Staten comes back. Playing a team that presses in the tournament is a tough proposition for a team like Iowa State who goes 8 deep. It's tough to beat a team 3 times. Then play basically a road game against Kansas. Iowa State beat them last year but it's hard to beat them in Kansas City and I bet Fred knows that. Kansas will be coming for blood and Ellis is suppose to be back for that game.

If Kansas St. upsets Kansas, it would still be a tough game.

Option A 7 days a week.

I wish our path was

KSU
Baylor
Kansas

But it looks like it will be texas which worries me. Can't get that round 1 b12 tournament game from a few years ago out of my head.

Doesn't getting swept by Baylor make us the 3 in the head to head for the 2 seed with OU?

No. Because Baylor and WVU are tied, they would be treated as one team for tiebreaker purposes between us and OU. We went 2-2 against BU/WVU combined, and so did OU, so then it would go to the next group, which is a three-team tie between UT/OSU/KSU.

We went 5-1 against that group but OU only went 4-2 so we win the tiebreaker with OU at that point. We would have K-State's win in Norman to thank for that.
