Shayok got a charging call in each half that were preposterous.

The guy in the first half literally flew in front of him.

The thing that irritates me is the inconsistency, especially game to game. Don't call freedom of movement fouls for one game (or one half), and then go no holds barred the next game (or half). We've had games where yesterday's action would have generated 30+ free throws.
Every fan base, from Kansas, Kentucky and Duke, down to Eastern State University of Nowhere, feels the same.

Every fan base can find two ridiculous calls against their team in every game, win or lose. Every. Single. One.

As a fanbase, we have to stop blaming losses on the officials. I think the world of Pollard, but this is one area where I feel he has given us stigma of always playing the "victim" card.

Refs didn't lose the game for ISU but they were TRASH. Absolute garbage officiating, completely unacceptable at this level.

ISU's offense was just as bad, and the defense on that final possession was embarrassing.

This team isn't anywhere near as good as people thought they were after the KU game. They continue to generally play solid defense, but the offense is entirely reliant on whether or not the 3 ball is falling, cause they sure as hell can't get anything else. None of our many guards can take it to the rim, which really sucks.

That said, they also aren't as bad as they've played. It's probably gonna be an up and down year. When the long ball is falling, look out. If Wigginton can figure out how to drive to the rim without falling over, look out. Otherwise, they can very easily be beat by anyone in the conference.
Jayhawk fans felt the same way after you guys whipped our butt. Several obvious missed calls and many times where KU players simply got knocked to the ground (since ISU was the more aggressive team) that could have been called fouls but weren't. KU's 24 turnovers and total lack of hustle to three point shooters lost the game, not the inconsistent performance of the refs.

It only bugs people when their team loses.

Almost all refs are bad at every level of play and throughout sports. They just can't keep up with bigger, stronger and faster. Michigan State is the best at exploiting this dynamic reality in today's sports.

When was the last time that KU got screwed at home by the refs...KU never has and never will.
Look the referees did not decide this game, when they let rough play go and dont call fouls, any finesse team is going to have a tough time winning......Lack of rebounding, Lack of focus in the first half and Missing foul shots at the end cost us this game......Not the officiating......
False. Every time KU loses at home due to being lethargic and not playing aggressive, there are many calls in the game that I think could have been made that weren't. So if I was a fan who watched games with that inherent belief and perspective that the refs were trying to screw us, I could perceive those as being "screwed" but I don't.

If you go into the game assuming the refs are out to screw you, it inherently always feels like they did after every loss. It's all about expectations and perspective.

West Virginia is by far the best at exploiting the refs systematically. They simply commit a thousand fouls in the name of being "more aggressive" knowing the refs absolutely will not call them all.

Michigan State is simply always big and strong, and their coach demands that they play a relentlessly bruising style. They are rarely the team that plays smaller and weaker so it just appears that they get the calls. The more aggressive team usually gets the calls and the wins and it is rare that Michigan State is not the more aggressive team.

The refs were not Shooting Free Throws at the end it was Lindell Wigginton and Barry Brown and we all saw how that worked out....These Refs were Incompetent and must be partially blind to overturn the call towards the end of the game, but they did not lose the game.......Our inability to make a couple of free throws at the end COST US THE GAME...Not those Incompetent Refs....
Dude, we lost because we couldn’t make FTs and open 3s at the end, but we also lost because of refs. We could’ve won even with those missed shots if refs were decent.

Nobody is saying refs go into the game with a plan to screw us. It just happens without a plan.

I would like examples of these several obvious missed calls?

Basketball is a fast game, and video reviews would slow the game down a lot. In college football, one video review can take five minutes or more. Nevertheless, I think a very, very limited number of them could be beneficial, just can't let it get out of hand and add half an hour to every game. Maybe allow each team to have 2 reviews per half, with a stipulation that the team making the challenge loses a timeout if they lose the review.

One BIG reason why this will never happen: to be fair, this would have to apply to all 351 NCAA division 1 teams, but only a small fraction of those teams have video facilities for every single game.
