I feel ya there. Those two songs would be perfect, and I'm sure they're not widely used for intro music.
I can't wait until Iowa State finally lands on an pre-game routine and intro and sticks with it. That said, they have to get it right first, as was the case with the uniforms. Pre-game is such a cluster f- right now that it's hard to build any momentum and excitement for the average Joe in the stands.
They can start by limiting Jeff Johnson's pregame routine to a greeting followed by the Cyclone - Power cheer. Then get off the field and let the fans carry that until the team is about to come out.
I think he was out there for a total of 5 minutes before the games last year. He basically just talked with the crowd, started an ISU chant, then the Cyclone Power chant, and left. How much shorter does it need to be?
A lot shorter than 5 minutes. I like the guy. In fact, about a year after I graduated he showed up in my office and personally invited me to join the Alumni Association. True story! Really cool guy. But quite honestly, I'd rather we didn't need him out there in the first place.
Oh god yes!! It's amazing.
IMO that would get the players jacked, fans jacked, all you would have to do is take out the words at the beginning, and you have on hell of an intro
I don't think we do either, but him being out there for 5 minutes last year was leaps and bounds better than the 20 he was out there two years ago.
I am with you 100% but I think we are being way too hopeful...they always go with a more upbeat hip-hop piece but I have confidence that they'll do us right.
At this point, I'd be content with something that isn't pop rock. Metal or not, we need to get away from Saliva.
Hell, give me some Scorpions' "Rock You Like a Hurricane" and I'll call it a victory.
That... and I'm starting to wonder if they're going to at least contemplate the Pulse of the Maggots idea now that it's on it's third year of getting support for use as an intro track.

i love this song for an intro!!! not as "hard" rock but if anyone has seen NCAA football 2010 video game intro video it goes really good with football highlights

If we go with Megadeth, I think we should go with "Blood of Heroes" above that. That is an epic song. That... and I think the lyrics are more fitting, and I'm a big fan of ominous foreboding than I am of run and gun entrances.

However, I love Walk more than I love my family. That song makes me get excited to buy milk.
I think that some Iggy and the Stooges would be really sweet. "Search and Destroy" should be the anthem for a team that's hoping to put a lot of points on the board and put the other team on their butts!
