the thing that scares me is we have all these expectations for next year but we are counting on 40 minutes from a combination of 3 recruits and an unnamed walk on. The good side is who ever it turns out to be is going to have a ton of weapons to work with.

I don't think it's all that bad. Those three all seem to be pretty talented and I fully expect one to step up and own the role. Especially with all of the talent around them.

Not ideal but compared to where we've been the last few years, I'll take my chances. If we get to the tournament in year 2 that's a nice accomplishment. i have hopes for more than just squeaking into the tournament but if that's all we get it will still be a good thing.

Next year scares you? I cannnot wait until next year, as we will likely have 13 scholarship players available, and based on these updates, all 13 should contribute to the team. Not having an 8 man rotation, with 2 of the 8 being limited in what they can give you, will really help this team. We are getting whatt appears to be 2 solid fill ins for Garrett(who was our most villafied player until this year), and with the experience at the other guard spots, and a shot of energy in the post, we should be in much better shape. The expectations of getting to the tournament should not be such a weight as to crush these young men. These are the expectations of every program in D1.

Well put. With the scout team and these new recruits, not to mention Ejim, Scott C, & Godfrey. Wow, I think the NCAA will start investigating us when we go from 5 conference wins to top 5 in the big 12.

From last night's game:
Thirteen of McGee’s 22 points came in the first half as Cowley built a 43-34 halftime lead. All nine of McGee’s points in the second half came in a one-minute span as he hit three treys to help Cowley’s lead grow from 72-58 to 81-60 with six minutes remaining. McGee also had 7 rebounds, and is now shooting 47% from beyond the arc on the season (50-106).

Not really, I think we'll see a lot of times when SC, Allen and Babb are the three guards on the floor. The PG role isn't going to be all on the new recruits' shoulders.

you'd think the offense will run through RW allowing him to dish to where the double team is coming from.

You are aware that if transfers were a part of recruiting rankings, we probably would have a top class that was eligible to play 2011-2012..

Seems like you are not counting on the transfers to produce next year..

News from Elgin Cook's last game (last night):

Clutch play leads King past Hamilton - JSOnline

"King took a brief 19-17 lead in the second quarter on Nic Stokes' three-pointer, but Hamilton went on an 11-0 run keyed by forward Elgin Cook. The senior and Iowa State recruit is back on the floor after missing time with an injured wrist. His three-point play gave the lead back to the Wildcats, and his free throws put them ahead, 28-23.

Cook started the second half with a thunderous dunk off a steal, and Hamilton led, 31-25."

"For Hamilton, Cook scored 21 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and had two blocks."

Looks like the wrist didn't set him back last night. Definitely looks like Cook might someday bring the house down. I am curious how good his handle is/ will be at the next level. Will he be an inside-outside guy, who can create for himself, or dunker/ guy who needs to be set up. Time will tell - excited to find out.

For Tyrus McGee, through 19 games, his stats are:

FG%: 130 of 264 = 49.2%
FG%(3pt): 60 of 124 = 48.4%
FT% 66 of 79 = 83.5%
AST: 3.2/ game
REB: 5.5/ game
STL: 2.2/ game
TO: 2.7/ game

I will be interested to see where his Assists go next year when he has other highly capable scoring options around him... assuming he is our likely starting PG.
