I was thinking the name was familiar. Nice one. You guys are doing a great job of covering Cyclone Athletics. Very informative without all the cheerleading. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the compliment.

I saw that link, too. My understanding is that if he was involved, it was as someone trying to break up the fight who got tossed in the middle of it. And it happened when he was in seventh grade, so keep that in consideration.

And that first link should be updated now.

Glad to have him on board.....look forward to getting to know more about him over the next 4 years! 2012 could wind up being an amazing class for ISU.

are they allowed to commit before Marquette offers them?

Exactly...

This day and age (especially at his age), verbals mean absolutely nothing. Right now we've provided him with a great backup option if things don't go perfectly during high school. Take this one with a grain of salt.

a good friend of mine was an asst coach at west until 2yrs ago when he moved to kc to coach there. he said there was only one reason he wasn't sure about leaving and it was the chance to coach this kid. he said he would come in as a 6th grader and straight up ball with the varsity team. he said he knew he would blow up and was gonna be pissed at himself for not being there to watch. also, about the fight, he confirmed that he was just trying to break it up, and said that we are not only getting one hell of a ball player, but a really good kid too. now hopefully we can just keep him committed for the next four yrs.

Awesome news. Also gotta few any discipline issues like a fight through a different lens with this kid... cause he is like in JR High.

I realize there is always excitement getting a new verbal, but does anyone find it a little troubling getting verbals from a 14 year olds?

Honestly... this means next to nothing to me. With the way kids are these days you can't trust a verbal.
