Whoever compiled that list, great job. Looking over it, with my amateur eye, it looks like we are the team to beat next year. Kansas will reload, but I think our experience and talent level will overtake them this next season.
ISU will battle with Texas and OU for 2-4. Kansas has just as much experience and more talent.

Okay, but do you go on the other Big XII school's boards to talk with them? Or is it simply a deep rooted fear of Iowa State?
ISU has the largest opposing Big 12 fan base that continually participates in message boards. Texas fans do not attend games, let alone use message boards to talk about basketball. K State fans are so beat down from continually losing to Kansas that they are depressing to talk with. I feel like they need to have a therapist putting people on suicide watch on all threads. Mizzou fans disappear from all existence as soon as their team drops out of the Top 25. Not only on message boards but physically. Go to Kansas City and count the number of people in Mizzou gear you see when they are hot and then when they are not. As soon as they drop out of the rankings people stop wearing Mizzou gear around. The ultimate fairweather fans. The only other team that is relevant to me that participates regularly on message boards is Kentucky. I use their boards from time to time but let's just say that the majority of their users are scholastically challenged and typically just resort to childish expletives and threats. At least here a fair number of people stick to the topic and have an intelligent conversation about it. I enjoy the point/counterpoint that some of the folks here give me. It's fun.

You need to look again then. Kansas is the team to beat, us and Texas will have a shot at doing it but on paper they will be the top dog

So how many scholarships for next year does ISU have left to fill? And who do you guys think the most likely candidates to fill those last spots?

It is pretty standard for most elite high school players to play at more than one school over their HS career. I wouldn't find that to be out of the ordinary. Guys going to three different colleges IS out of the ordinary.

Fred will take his chances. It is a one year deal.

@jeffborzello: Oklahoma guard Je'lon Hornbeak is transferring. Will sit out, then have two years left.

At some point, Hoiberg has to start getting the benefit of the doubt. If not next year, certainly the year after.

you get the benefit of the doubt when you prove you can actually do it, which we have yet to do (big 12 tourney title is not the same, plus ku was down a lottery pick). unless isu wins a few in a row, i would bet they never get the benefit of the doubt. why would isu get the benefit of the doubt if they haven't won multiple titles and/or have the best recruiting class in the conference? ku always has the top recruiting class and has 10 straight titles to back it up. until those things change, ku will always get the benefit of the doubt and deservedly so. isu has...the top transfer class? to those applying this "benefit of doubt" transfer classes don't matter, only incoming freshman and traditional jucos matter in their eyes.

He gone.

@JasonKingBR: Baylor soph center Isaiah Austin will enter the NBA draft, sources tell @BleacherReport . Austin wouldve gone last season if not for injury.

will he even go in the first round? i have been very underwhelmed by him the past two seasons. i know you can't teach height, but with that height he isn't particularly intimidating with his boney body. plus nba will downgrade him due to his eye not working.

i guess he probably wouldn't have improved his stock with another season though.

Whoa. I did not expect that at all.

I agree. I don't think he's gonna go in the first round and I don't see him being more than a bench guy in the NBA if he even sticks on a roster. Cole Aldrich can barely stick in the NBA and he was way better than Austin. He just isn't a very good player and doesn't seem to have the body frame that can easily add weight.
