Bullpen is.....bullpenning.

Perkins in to face Miggy, who is the go-ahead run with runners at 2nd and 3rd. Sub-optimal.

Meanwhile, Houston is losing AGAIN. Please take their gift.

Houston, losing again to Texas, 6-2: "Hey Minnesota, here's a wildcard, we sure aren't going to use it."

Minnesota: "Thanks, but no thanks. Not interested."

Houston - the Toledo of the American league.
Minnesota - The Cyclones of the American League.

That look on Perkins face was what I assume CPR had after the game last week. Uh oh- there goes my job.

I'd be stunned if they muster up the you know whats to remove him from that role. Seriously, you'll be able to knock me over with a feather if he isn't closing from Day 1 next year.

Local boy and three time all star. Of course he'll be the closer. But Jepsen has shown he's much better in the last half. Not saying he's better overall, just that GP went into a complete meltdown overnight.

Second year in a row, same exact injury. IIRC he also had shoulder/neck issues when he was a starter.

Somethings wrong, and unless it's fixed -- as in, major procedure, found a legit cause fixed, not a cortisone shot -- I don't know how you can trust him as a closer if he doesn't have the durability to last more than half a season.

Twins win second in a row, Buxton hits first homer.

Too little, too late? Houston winning again and the Angels have made the pass...

Maybe best case is force a game 163/4?

Who would have thought the Twins would win 80+ games this year? They've had a great season-- and with Sano, Buxton, Rosario, Escobar, Vargas, and Santana they have a great bunch of young talent that will win a lot of games.

Every game from here on out is basically a 1 game playoff. I think Twins have to finish out 6-1. 5-2 maybe with a lot of help.

Twins wildcard elimination # is 6; agree with needing to go 6-1 to sniff the postseason, especially with the soft schedules that Houston (@Seattle) and Los Angeles (Oakland) have.

Twins win tonight. It seems like for the last 2 months every time the Twins win the other 2 win and every time the Twins lose the other 2 do as well. It's kept us close, but it would be nice if both could lose tonight.

Losing season stretch is over!

Theyve threatened to completely go in the tank a couple times, but they've had the resiliency to rally back every time. Impressive. Good growth step.

If completely healthy, he should be closing from day 1.

What are the odds of that?

With the same injury, roughly the same time 2 years in a row (a little earlier this year), and a history of injury in that area it's clear he's not "completely healthy."

If they don't find and fix the root cause in the offseason...I don't think he's reliable enough to have back there as a ticking time bomb.

They have to get it figured out, and he has to quit hiding his injuries and blowing 2 or 3 weeks of games before coming clean about it.

What stud pitchers do we have other than Berrios that can make the jump to the majors next year?
