2018 Maui Tournament

What is the Maui Jim package? We went through the tournament but had to go through Anthony Travel which is the Iowa State Athletic Travel Agent. We do get a free pair of Maui Jim Sunglasses for each member of our group with our package.

That's what I'm referring to. There were booster packages available through ISU's AD, but we're too far down on the doner list to be anywhere close to buying into one of those packages. So we found out where the boosters & team were staying, contacted Maui Jim as ISU fans and purchased 2 all-tournament packages, hotel stay and shuttle passes. They passed us off to Anthony Travel to book our flights.

We are Gold level. Not sure if it got to Cardinal or not. We went the booster ticket route,, my wife wanted more pool time......

Sounds like I made the right choice. Probably better anyway, because after the tournament we're going to fly over to Oahu and spend a few days there, then fly home from there. So we needed some flexibility.

Good choice.....we are coming out early and staying at the Wailea Beach Marriott for 5 nights on the south part of Maui. Should be fun. Rally Shots by the pool.

My GF, who went to and is an avid Arizona BBall fan, expects the Cyclones to win.

Also, begin mini rant! I pitched to my family at Christmas that we should spend Thanksgiving in Hawaii this year for the tournament. I went to Iowa State, my GF went to Arizona, and my dad and sister went to Illinois! Couldn't convince my mom, dad, and sister to get on board! ! End Rant!

For lodging you should be good to find an airbnb, however for tickets I still haven't done anything with that either... Was going to watch them go on sale thru the website on the 8th and/or scalp .. Worst case scenerio you're in Hawaii and can watch on a patio bar with plenty of isu fans!

'sign' Instead, we are going in the opposite direction. We are going to Newport RI for a week and a half. She has a friend who lives in the area. The friend is taking a vacation to Germany for a week, and she offered my GF a plane ticket so she can watch the dogs. So she gets a free plane ticket, free lodging (staying at the house), and free use of the car. Only expenses we have is paying for my ticket and any activities we do. Once my GF friend gets back, we'll do the whole Thanksgiving thing in Newport, RI.

Going to Hawaii would have required my parents to go, since they would have covered some of the costs, like lodging.

I think that is the case also....but he was in a bar underage after the season - maybe a game for that? - and has missed all of summer (but not the only one). I will be interesting to see if he is day one starter or has to work his way back.

He has missed all summer going to get better (voluntarily). I have no doubt that this will put paid to any indiscretions prior to that.

@YeahBuddy is also looking for someone to room with, if you guys are interested. Frans paying his way to get scouting report on the clones. He asked @CyTwins to room with him but twins knows he talks about the hawks 95% of the time and thought it might just be a little too much hawk talk.

Arizona beat Division II Chaminade in their exhibition by 11 after trailing by as many as 8 early in the 2nd half. Their best two players are Brandon Williams (Freshmen) who had 23 points and Brandon Randolph (Sophomore) who had 19 points. Both are guards and former high 4 star recruits. Sounds like the frontcourt was not involved much offensively. Their key frontcourt player will be 5 star Duke transfer Chase Jeter. He only had one point in their exhibition in 17 mins and has been apparently bothered with an early unspecified injury.

Arizona plays three sub 275 teams before Maui so Iowa State will be their first real matchup.
