Not that it matters at all, but one of the first things that I noticed about our matchup was that it is on ESPNU. All of the other quarterfinal games are on ESPN2

I noticed it too but it is also set for the best time slot 8PM CDT I believe for the most people should be able to watch. I am not sure what the difference is in how many people have ESPN 2 vs U. Even if it is a real percentage less it is probably made up by the number who will be able to watch (the first two occurring during the day or 10ish tip off of the last game).

Does ESPN do additional MNF coverage on ESPN2? That may explain why ISU is on ESPNU.

My GF, who went to and is an avid Arizona BBall fan, expects the Cyclones to win.

Also, begin mini rant! I pitched to my family at Christmas that we should spend Thanksgiving in Hawaii this year for the tournament. I went to Iowa State, my GF went to Arizona, and my dad and sister went to Illinois! Couldn't convince my mom, dad, and sister to get on board!! End Rant!

What's all this talk about seeding? I realize they try and play the matchups, but I don't think there are seeds.

Non-Con definitely seeing an uptick...Missouri, Arizona, potentially Duke, and/or Gonzaga. Used to seeing Central Michigan, Southern Indiana, and UKMC, so this is nice. Will certainly test the team early.

Hows missouri supposed to be this year?

So what’s the best remaining option for buying tickets — either just to ISU games or for all seven games? I am mulling the trip.

I have more flight and hotel points than George Clooney in Up in the Air. No problem making it to Maui — just the game tickets.

Not sure it's a game we should win but we did get a good draw

I don't how that conclusion was reached, I'd say totally up in the air when matching up with someone who always has talent.

Tickets only may be hard to find. Looks like every school sold out the packages. Sounds like the might release any available packages in mid August. Tickets only may not be an option this year with the loaded field. Sounds like scalping is possible but weird as some ticjets are booster tickets for your schools games only and others are all tourney tickets. The place seats about 2500. I would go the the official site and get on their email list.

By the way, who among the CF crowd is going to Maui?

My family pulled the trigger, might be another 30 years before we get there again. So we went for it.

I would like to go, but can't find anyone to go with.

Also single tickets go on sale August 8th.

If available they will go on sale. My guess is there will be very few or even none to sell.

Where are you seeing "if available"? The website lists Aug 8th and the guy I talked to said they were going on sale Aug 8th. I believe it might have stated "if available" for game tickets when the packages were released in hopes of getting more fans to bundle hotel/tickets. Also to get more fans to the games when their team isn't playing.

Years when the field is not as loaded they do not sell out packages, last year they had tickets and packages up till the tourney started. This year they sold out of packages. They may have ticjets available but it won't be many. When I thought early on about doing my own travel and buying tickets separately I was told that they may be available at a later date. I did not want to chance it. So if they go on sale then I would be ready to buy as they will not last long. At least half of the 2500 tickets were sold with booster packages, those sold out. They also sold all tourney ticket packages, those sold out. I know that sponsors get some tickets and with only 2500 seats the numbers of tickets left will be small and if the are available will go fast.

This is copied straight from the web site and was posted yesterday when they announced the brackets

"Due to high demand, travel packages for the 2018 Maui Jim Maui Invitational are sold out. Ticket packages, based on availability, will be available for purchase through the Tournament website, www.mauiinvitational.com/tickets, beginning at 4 p.m. ET on August 8.

Hows missouri supposed to be this year?

They lost most of their production from last year so this appears to be something of a transition year for them. Write-ups on Mizzou say fewer wins this year but things look better for the 2019 season.

PapaLew & I are going. We'll be at the team's hotel, but on the Maui Jim package, not the ISU package.

What is the Maui Jim package? We went through the tournament but had to go through Anthony Travel which is the Iowa State Athletic Travel Agent. We do get a free pair of Maui Jim Sunglasses for each member of our group with our package.
