Bingo and the regular season in college hoops has almost no value. Case in point (and yes it’s still football season) but there is a top-10 undefeated matchup tomorrow with us and Baylor…crickets from the national media.

I also do get that if it were Duke/Carolina tomorrow in the same spot we would have heard about it. But basketball for college is all about March. Even though you build your resume leading up to March.
You think it has no value now- make it a 4 team postseason in which only the 4 most elite records are in, and then you'll see no value games in Feb and March for most of the sport. About 2/3 of the sport would know they're season is done by early January

The record has to mean something. Are you really advocating that 2 loss Ohio State, fresh off of a drubbing by Michigan, should have been put into the playoff over undefeated Cincinnati?
It has to mean something, just far less than it currently does imo

And yes, I am. first, it wasn't a drubbing physically- only if scoreboard watching. UGa just got drilled more. It happens.

Care to give me a ton of points and UGa next week? I mean, they just got drubbed by the same team two games ago. Who do you think gives Bama a better game, Ohio St or Cicny?

The good news about realignment is that this will be taken care of when the CFP is expanded imo

Gets boring when it's the same couple teams every year. Never watched a playoff game. Once I heard about TCU screw job, I learned the committee is as corrupt as FIFA.

But it's never going to be that way so I am confused on your point. That's proposing a false stance to try and make a point. The ratings for college hoops and interest are all there. Nobody cares until football is over and it gets to late February and March.

If Michigan scores a TD on this drive I continue to watch, otherwise it’s Netflix time.

Ohio State was a very flawed team this year, especially defensively.

Sick of Alabama and can’t stand watching the $EC. Miss the old days of Florida State, Miami USC etc with talent and wealth spread around multiple conferences. Hopefully the sport cycles out of this monotonous phase it’s in. To be honest, I’m much more interested in some of the games tomorrow than this four team playoff BS. It’s just torture sitting through the season long hype that ESPN puts around this current system.

College football was at its best 20+ years ago.

I'll agree that an expansion is desperately needed. But if you think throwing out an undefeated Cincinnati in favor of two loss Ohio State is good for the sport, you're crazy. Having the same group of 5-6 teams in the playoff every year leads to stagnation and fatigue, even if you can make the argument that they're the best 4 teams. Seeing Michigan and Cincinnati make the playoff was refreshing this year, if only because it's finally some new blood.

Of course it is not going to be that way, no one suggested it would be LMAO. Why do you think that is? Why it would ruin the regular season in basketball but not football?

Thank you for making my point. He brought up basketball as an example of the regular season having less value because of the postseason differences and teams being able to lose more. That is false. Losses eliminating your postseason opportunities does not really add value to the regular season unless you're Bama. Having an incredibly exclusive postseason and overly penalizing for losses is a net loss in terms of regular season value.

Think of it this way. The NFL had most of the AFC still in contention for the postseason until Week 14. Fans of nearly every team still caring about those games. If on the college football model, far less of the regular season games matter.

Expand it to 12 or whatever it'd still be UGA and Bama as the best teams. I know people don't like the term "eye test" but it should be obvious to anyone who's watched college football this year that Bama and UGA are the 2 best teams. If anyone one besides them were to win the NC that imo is a disservice to college football.
