He's gotten a little wild at the tee box as the round has drawn on, but still has avoided major scoreboard destruction. Great starting round for him.
This could be a little fatigue. I have to believe as long as he has been out and the lack of really any tournament play leading up to this he probably isn't in the best shape.

I think the longer Tiger hangs around near the top of the leaderboard, it's bad news for the other golfers. Tiger will gain confidence and the other guys will start to get shaky.
Tomorrow is key. His swing looks good and he’s definitely playing well. Just does NOT look comfortable walking. For me…who hasn’t ever been a huge Tiger guy…it’s kind of hard to watch. Like he’s dragging the leg below the knee with everything above the knee.

Be interesting to see how he recovers.

I think those days are over
2019 isn't too far away. Molinari and Finau both said it was intimidating having Tiger in the final group with them (and he wasn't supposed to be, but they had to go to groups of 3 due to rain) and affected their mental psyche that day. Until someone can stare down Tiger and beat him on Sunday, I think those days are still around.

Maybe this time they would just “accidentally” step on his foot.

Zach had no trouble starring him down on the back nine on Sunday.

Yeah, I haven't watched any of it. But how he physically responds tomorrow will matter. He could have left it all out on the course today and not have anything left tomorrow.

Either way, I'm happy for him for today.

How have their careers gone since that day 15 years ago? Oh Tiger is still more successful? I rest my case.
Have you checked the last 15 years? Zach 2 majors. Tiger 3. Zach 2023 Ryder Cup captain. Third in the Pga. Two top 10 in US open, including 2020. You can't make the comment "until" because Zach has already done that.

I guess I’ll just have to with what the other players on the tour say. They still say that the aura of Tiger is known throughout the Tour. Congrats to Zach for doing it 15 years ago. Tiger’s presence is still felt in the locker room and if he’s in contention, it’s gonna mess with the other golfers heads.

Also, Since Zach won that major, Tiger has more major victories and tour victories in the last 15 years than Zach does in his entire career. And that’s doing it pretty much as a part time player with all of his injuries.

I'll take Zachs win at St. Andrew's over any thing Tiger has done in the past 15 years. Zach is one of six who has won at St. Andrew's and Augusta, joining Tiger (who hasn't won at st. Andrew's since 2005) and Jack in the select few. In his prime, no one could stare down Tiger and no one was better. And no doubt golfers still have respect.... but do you really think that golfers aren't capable of staring him down this weekend? I mean look at what a 270 yard golfer did to Tiger close to his prime.

If Tiger is in the lead or a 1-2 strokes back going into Sunday, no. There’s no golfer in this field that I feel could stare down Tiger.

I’m also laughing that you would take Zach’s win over Tiger winning the US Open on a torn ACL and 2 stress fractures in his leg at Torrey Pines.

Laugh all you want but shooting a 66 in the final round and winning a three way 4 hole playoff at the old course is tops.
