@PeteThamel: Sources: Mississippi State is expected to hire New Mexico State’s Chris Jans to be the school’s next coach. The sides are expected to move quickly. A deal could be finalized soon.

If there ever was a perfect spot for CSP's resurrection.
I believe he left there on good terms loves the area and the school knows he can win there.
Murray St is moving to MVC so it actually a better job that can attract a coach who may have better optics than Prohm does after last year. Gotta at least get a call right?

Seems like he just became a big name because Baylor won it all but he hasn't been a D1 head coach and he has really only been at Christian private schools going back to his time in Texas HS. That is a huge part of Baylor recruiting is selling the religion aspect which suits him specifically because he is definitely very religous forward. I don't know how that translates to recruiting to KSU. Also a lot easier to recruit Texas kids to a Texas school than to KSU. He is going up against Baylor, Texas, Tech, Houston etc. Also, already 55. I don't see this ending well.

A lot of coaches are very religious forward and recruits parents love that.

Yeah but I like to the extreme which works at a religious private school. I mean I have read he sells kids on coming to Baylor by telling them God is calling them there. lol He isn't bringing the 4 and 5 star kids from Texas to KSU. So I don't see him getting the guys and he will be facing way better coaches. He will be gone in 3 years.
