All the more reason to talk about it though. It wasn't some half-court shot or buzzer beater. Yes that is more dramatic to sell and relive, but I remember that game like you mentioned. UMBC beat the crap out of UVA that night.
Other than it being the first 16-over-1, it has similarities to Dunk City 15-over-2, a game that became total dominance. It was wild to see it become that lopsided, but it didn't have intense drama.
Norfolk State and Middle Tennessee wins are memorable upsets because they were high-scoring affairs and down to the wire, in addition to be relatively rare.
ISU-Hampton, considered purely as quality, was a dud*. Richmond led Syracuse the entire game. Coppin State got a significant lead over South Carolina State iirc. Seems like Santa Clara-Arizona and Lehigh-Duke became a formality -- lots of clock-stoppage and free throws down the stretch (more so the Lehigh game than SC). And Duke loss came not long after NFS-Mizzou so the novelty seemed like too close together.
*It did have the late shot for the lead and the missed layup close the buzzer, but ...
