Breece not going in the first should not surprise anyone.

Bills were really the only shot, but the way the draft went…. they had better options fall to them.

I’m not sure who our next best chance will be? Gotta think McDonald, but size will always be a concern for him. Hutchinson? I don’t think Downing will have a shot.

Round matters a ton. The guaranteed money first rounders get and the initial length of contract makes a huge difference. UNI had a freaking first rounder. Stop gaslighting the issue.
Yeah, but for a RB, a position where getting to your second contract is ultra important, you can make a solid argument that getting drafted in the second round is a better deal, because you can get there a year earlier. That's not gaslighting. That's just math. The difference in money between 32 and 33 is not that much, but getting to your second contract earlier in your career can make a huge difference.

Regarding guaranteed money, I think you're conflating it with the NBA. NFL first round picks do not necessarily have guaranteed contracts. A lot of them do end up with guaranteed contracts, but it's not a for sure thing.

0 chance Hutchinson is a 1st round draft pick.

Does that money help, you? Iowa State? Anyone? That length of contract? I realize what you are saying. But in reality those things only help that one person. Iowa State having a First rounder is just a feather in their cap, but having several well known starters/Pro bowlers in the NFL might mean more as far as recognition. But in the long run, saying we produced NFL talent in multiple positions at starter levels, regularly vs a singular 1st rounder every so often probably a better tool.

Is this the last long ugly streak of significance for ISU? Like going decades without beating OU in football or at Kansas in basketball?

I don't spend much time worrying about this one, at the same time it's a real statistical fluke never to have had one all that time. For whatever reason, ISU just doesn't produce fluke successes the way other places do.

That figures we have the best running back in the draft, grades out as good as anyone in the last 10 years and he still doesn’t go in the first round

Nebraska’s ncaa winless history is like if we were still looking for that first bowl win we got 24 years ago.

He's good but he's not that good.

Not good enough to be drafted at all? It seems like they’re on pace to draft 25 wrs at least, he’s not top 25?

Again, I’m an admitted nfl draft moron over here.

Regardless I’m glad he’s coming back, there were games he carried the offense if a team focused entirely on Hall.

Not good for the program that Hall did not get drafted in the first round, even though everyone said he graded out as a first round pick.
The value of a running back in the NFL is just not high right now, so you can get pro bowl running backs in the 2nd and later rounds. Many teams just do not see enough value nor need to take a player like Hall in the 1st round.

The lack of a first round draft pick for ISU continues, when is it ever going to end?

I think Breece has a good shot at going to Tampa Bay with the first pick of the second round. They only have Leonard Fornette and KeyShawn Vaughn. Could have traded back to second round because they knew no one was trading into the first to draft an RB.
