Watching the bobsled competitions I was curious as to why they list the country and the "pilot" when giving times for each entry. Do both or all 4 members of those teams get medals if they place? I guess I never noticed that the "pilot" gets more recognition than the rest of the team.

Probably similar to a QB or a RB in football, no one talks about the linemen.

Japan-Switzerland was pretty good too. You may be kidding, since most people think it’s stupid, but I like it.

Not kidding. I love curling. I think the curling club at ISU only started after I graduated, or I would have liked to have gotten involved. That or I just wasn’t into curling then like I am now.

Team GB strategy worked perfectly and threw great. Commercials and all the break through talking was annoying.

A bunch of countries have multiple entries in the sliding events. Just a way to differentiate between them.

They used to be called "Germany 1" and "Germany 2" (for example). Now they list pilots instead of just country and number.

I love the Olympics. There's something about watching these sports that aren't regularly broadcast on TV with Athletes that train like crazy for the dream of a medal instead of million dollar contracts.

I'm already ready for the next one.
I don’t even like most of the sports, but the amount of work for years that come down to seconds of performance every for years is really hard to fathom.

My favorite moment was probably Baumgartner getting gold with Jacobelis.

I thought the best part of these games was Chen dominating the skating to take gold. The world's best and he showed it on the Olympic stage.
And he's a statistics major.
Definitely. There were some good stories, but pretty disappointing overall. This will go down as a pretty forgettable Olympics if not for all the controversy.

Wish ABC still had Wild World of Sports on so you got to watch some of these obscure sports.. Curling needs to add mandatory beer cans for each participant. Broom and a beer and sliding a rock with a beer in hand.

As a kid I loved that. One week you'd have pro bowling, next week maybe bull riding, etc.

Did anyone notice that the women's two person bobsled team member Elana Meyers? She looks very similar to Gene Simmons.

The most decorated black athlete in the Winter Olympics? Closing ceremony flag bearer? The most decorated female bobsledder?

Yep. When she was on camera with her mask on (and her hair style) she looks similar to Gene Simmons.

Or at least make The Ocho a real thing other than a once-a-year tribute to Dodgeball.
