O/U for points 65.5 total points scored 65. For the over crowd that's a tough one. Damn these Vegas guys know their stuff.

So what’s the O/U on number of years until the top half of the Big 10 and top half of the SEC leave their respective conferences to form the Montgomery Burns ESPN/Fox Super League?

Watching Herbstreit lamenting the end of the PAC 12 at the end of the broadcast was a massive eye roll moment.

If Michigan loses to Iowa, the Big Ten probably misses the playoff, right?

Say Texas and Florida State both win. You would have Georgia, Washington, Florida State, and a debate between Texas and Michigan.

An Alabama win over Georgia would further complicate things.

That would be a cluster **** of a situation. It pains me to say, but with that situation you have to put Bama in… or maybe give Texas the tie breaker

Not exactly sure.
Las Vegas is a better place to go than Arlington for a Championship Weekend Game and Party. Plus, it would be a compromise to keep the BB Tournament(s) in KC.
Why compromise to keep in KC? The new schools should not be able to move the championships in year one. Earn your time in the conference it would be just like when we bowed down to Texas and OU and let them decide where things should be. The original 8 should get to decide for the first few years at least. Utah already has issues thinking they will run the conference and their AD is the one who killed the PAC. Let’s not listen to him one but at all.

They would keep MU or grab OSU. The SEC and big ten (which had the most affiliation of the committee members) will not be left out.

Lots of us are joking about Ohio State getting in, but there’s really no path for the Buckeyes. There’s just too many other teams that are potentially 12-1 or 13-0, most of them conference champions. I can’t see them jumping up enough spots to get in the top four, especially since they’re not even playing.

I suppose if Michigan, FSU, Georgia, and Texas all lose, then maybe … then we could see Bama/Georgia/Ohio State. That’s the only possibility I can think of.

Kinda delicious to think that in the original 2014 playoff it was that “13th data point” that got Ohio State in over TCU, and now in the final four-team playoff it’s that same “13th data point” that’s going to keep them out.

I really ******* hope so.

But they'll pull out some random reason to let one of UM or tOSU in.

Awesome game and atmosphere tonight.
Big Xii should seriously consider moving Big Xii Football Championship to Las Vegas.

The Raiders use a natural grass field where the college games there use the artificial turf. I guess there were some comments in pregame where it was inconsistent and had soft spots at the seams. So I’d want to make sure that is fixed before even considering it.

But I wouldn’t be at all opposed to moving it out of Texas after the two schools left the conference. To me, though, the biggest thing would be to grab that Friday night time slot. It is a ratings gold mine and prevents you from being overshadowed by the SEC and Big10 on Saturday.

Even if Georgia loses, I don’t see how you could leave out the two time defending champ. Blown out? Yeah, leave them out.

A consideration for moving the game to Vegas has to be fan travel. There were a lot of late arriving fans yesterday and the Uber/Lyft wait at the airport was jammed. Now, it moved steadily but the drive to the hotel was slow with traffic and checking in took a while. I was surprised by how many Oregon fans were at the airport still and checking in at hotel when I arrived.

Now, the walk to and from the stadium wasn't bad and it didn't take any time at all to get in.

I would do this trip again some year if the B12 was here and Iowa State was playing. So many things to do for the weekend. Will be nice to watch the B12 game at 9am local this morning.

That's their only shot

Agree.
Michigan or FSU lose, they are out. Texas should be in with a win and either FSU or Mich loss.

Bama and Texas win, coupled with a FSU or Mich loss, UGA stays in with 14 or less pt loss. Texas should take 4th spot due to head to head, but they'll give to Bama based on better win.

Unless Bama embarrasses UGA (or UGA just straight wins), Texas loses and either Michigan loses or FSU loses, I don't see how Ohio State gets in sitting at home this weekend.

If Michigan loses to Iowa, it should be an automatic disqualification from the playoffs. No team that loses to the Hoks should be allowed to have a crack at the natty.
That being said, the media will go out of their way to guarantee that some Big 10 will make the playoffs.

It’s why Iowa is ranked 16. They moved them up as much as they could to give MU an out if they lose. We know if this wasn’t the case, they would not be in the top 20.

With the pac 12 going away, id bet that someone ends up in that slot so that all 4 remaining major conferences can run without directly competing. Would guess theres a good chance that ends up being the big 12
