Why is Georgia still in if they lose next week and have 3 losses?
Think the head of committee has pretty much said they aren't going to penalize the loser of the Conference Championship games much. Don't want to reward the teams that didn't even qualify to play the title game.

Two clown programs. Now they can get ready to get their asses kicked in their mayo quick lube bowl games.
Yeah, I just laughed after that one. Two horrible teams with horrible fans just embarrassing themselves on national TV with atrocious football…. it was awesome and hilarious!

I can’t even imagine sitting through that s**t show? Couldn’t pay me to do that.

As it was, they only converted 1 of their 8 2 pt attempts...so chances are they wouldn't have converted that one either and would have lost there.
If you’re 1) an underdog 2) on the road 3) who just gave up a double-digit lead 4) while fumbling twice in the final minutes to nearly give the game away and who then 5) won the toss in OT, was on offense last, and then scored to be down one point … I’d say the “metrics” (and common sense) would be strongly in favor of ending the game right there with a 2-point try. Worst case scenario is Tech loses (which is what they did anyway).

Of course, if their “best” 2-point play was that WR screen that Georgia recognized from the formation and knew was coming before the snap, maybe not …

No risk, no reward type thing I suppose

How I see it:

Big10 - 4 (UO,OSU,PSU,UI)
SEC - 3 (UT,GA,UT)
ACC - 3 (SMU,UM,Clem)
Big12 - 1 (ISU)
MW - 1 (BSU)
Ind - 1 (ND)

I don’t see a lot of drama this week. Maybe the Clemson / SC game? But if Clemson takes care of SC, I don’t see the committee jumping Bama over them. They just could not make up a story to cover it, no matter how they tried. I also see them try really hard to not penalize losers in the CCG’s. So both Miami and SMU are in with a loss.

IF A&M runs the schedule, it’ll be Indiana that loses a spot before Clemson or Bama.

I do wish the TV partners would setup a soccer style schedule and play all conference games at the same time slot. Big10 11:00 (no impactful games), Big12 2:30, SEC 6:30. At least the games that have impact on the CCG’s.

Why is everyone talking like ESPN is handling picking these teams for the playoffs?

The games are actually on.......checks notes........TBS?? I don't know what that has to do with Espn.

It’s about increasing value of their investment into the SEC. The better the SEC does, the more interest they get and thus more viewership. For how much they paid for the SEC, they need it to dominate the narrative of CFB.
