Yeah, I don't think South Carolina has been playing that great lately but I do like the angle that they would be VERY motivated to play Iowa after what happened last season. Just like Iowa had tonight.

If Iowa plays UCONN in the semis I do think maybe Geno can come up with a better strategy against them as well. Just not quite sure if UCONN is good enough overall this year though to beat them.
Yeah UConn doesn’t have enough talent this year. With Fudd? Different story. But Iowa will easily beat USC or UConn imo.

I'm not as bought into the HVL did the wrong thing train, but it is telling that when Mulkey finally switched her off Clark and onto Martin, the ball immediately went into Martin's hands and she scored a few times.

Second feature: JuJu Watkins (next years WBB's It Girl) versus the pre-Clark WBB It Girl, Page Bueckers. The stars are out tonight.

JuJu setting the freshman scoring record, but almost zero coverage of her nationally. That move to get the and-1 was savvy.

Well, she got a LOT of press that I heard. It's just almost all of the Pac-12 games were on Pac-12 TV with no national big TV exposure. I didn't get to actually see her till the end of February, in Mexico of all places (for some reason they had Pac-12 on the sports lounge).

Playing in the Big Ten next year she'll get the TV games so everyone will get to see her. Not playing late games out west will help a lot to.

As I said the other day, LSU doesn’t shoot great. They miss a lot of layups, but they rebound great, but alas it wasn’t enough.

I’m cheering for UConn. I think Geno is a good enough coach to actually have a game plan against Iowa- looking at you Colorado and LSU.
I think they can slow it down and be more methodical.

Could be, keeping in mind of course fans that want them to lose have been saying similar things all along the way…”they won’t do that vs “this” team….oh i guess they did, well then, not this team….

UCONN is not very deep and doesn’t shoot from 3 all that well.

South Carolina is the team you’re hoping for. They are the clear best team. They are beatable, but it will be tough.

Iowa will be favored over these other 2 teams. They can lose, but just like I told someone the other day, when they were talking about how great LSU was… I said maybe, but Iowa will be favored and I believe the win going away and that’s what they did.

South Carolina is the best team left, for sure, but I wouldn't entirely sleep on NC State either. They shoot well, defend well enough, and limited Texas. They seem to get lost in the mix since they don't have a star name on their team.

LSU in a lot of trouble here. Shockingly, even though they have the athletic and size edge across the board, they can’t execute against the man to man defense. Iowa doesn’t even want to play defense. And then they refuse to get back on defense.

As I said to someone the other day, they are bigger and more physical and a GREAT rebounding team, but NOT quicker and more athletically.

Iowa defense was much better in the 2nd half.
