NBA: *** 2025-26 NBA Thread ***

Edwards and Ball are great players but they are both kind of clowns. Not sold on them being good influences on one another or either of them being the guy on a team that can win it. It's better than Morant ending up there though.

What could go wrong counting on Gobert in the playoffs? I'm not a hater but he does have limitations. Trading Reid is bizarre.
Just like Gobert is a walking top 10 defense, Lamelo is a walking top ten offense. Swapping a very nice bench player for an offensive engine like Lamelo is a no brainer. I couldn’t believe Charlotte gave him away for so little. I will gladly take on the injury risk for a young player like Lamelo.

Gobert is pretty valuable in the regular season but he is too one dimensional for the playoffs. And he is aging, betting on seven footers to maintain elite athleticism in their mid thirties is risky. They also hollowed out their 4 spot when they shipped Reid and Randle both out. Adding Lamelo to upgrade their offense makes sense. But on the whole, I have a hard time seeing them be better next year. I don't think they have enough cap space to sign much else but I could be wrong on that.

Wish the Timberwolves would've picked and kept Jefferson. Might have been a fit for some PF minutes

I'm suprised how many experts are saying they sold high on Lamelo. Doesn't feel that way. Realistically there's a chance it's 1,1st round pick and Naz Reid. The pick is in 7 years. If Hornets take step back next season after they had a great 2nd half their fans should be very upset about this deal

LOL to this

It would be a debacle, but part of me would love to see it lol. If they pulled it together they'll have an absolutely ancient team. By the time the playoffs roll around they'd have Lebron (42), Horford (40), Steph (39), Draymond (37) and AD (34). The Spurs/Thunder would be absolutely running circles around that old ass team.

Not to mention they'll have to move Jimmy to make it happen and it'll take multiple future firsts/swaps to do so. Craziness because, even if you get this team together, you're going to have basically one season to hope it works and then you'll have burned all sorts of assets for any possible rebuild.

Seems like it would be just a move to sell tickets. I think Golden State knows they’re nowhere close to legitimately competing for a title. Might as well gather some all-time greats for one last year and sell a ton of tickets in their swan song.

It would be a spectacular explosion to end the era. Which would be as entertaining as any other way for them to finish it off.

That’s the beauty of having an elite passing point guard who is a dynamic creator. They elevate everyone around them offensively. Naz puts together a nice highlight reel but he is way overvalued and I’m glad the wolves sold high on in him. The wolves don’t need a flashy power forward they need a defender and capable 3 pt shooter.

Look at all the teams who have went to finals the last 15 years. How many don’t have an elite dynamic point guard? Players like LeBron and Doncic count.

If there’s one thing the wolves have learned over the last few years is that Edward’s is not a point guard. They aren’t winning a title until they address the point guard situation. I’m glad Tim Connelly doesn’t sit on his hands and play it safe, he’s always been very willing to make calculated moves.
