I see interest in Eli Sanders for Mich State, Louisville, Arkansas, Utah, Arizona, and probably others. He did it right, go down, kick ass, then go back up.
He was probably the only player I was bummed about losing last year. I thought he could be a great gadget guy/3rd-down back for us this year. But props to him, going to get a payday as a feature back somewhere

I don't know if I believe this but people on here said he left because he couldn't beat out Abu.

Xavier Townsend is probably a better version of Eli Sanders. At least that's my hope.

I get where you're coming from.

My take is that while yes ASU went from last to first, it would be easy enough for any of these schools to take a big step back. Colorado for example... what are they going to be like without shadur and hunter? What coaches (Dillingham?) get an opportunity for an NFL job?

What Iowa State has is continuity. It's what Campbell and Pollard have identified as one way to sustainably improve. Keep your coaches, retain players. Build a reputation for being boringly successful.

It's sometimes annoying as a fan that were not taking big risks and shooting for the stars... but I'd argue this is the best we've ever been as an athletic department. You don't change the formula that got us here.
I completely agree with the message, but if the kids Colorado is picking up at all are as good as rankings suggest - TBD, as always - they'll be just fine. Maybe even a better overall team, but slightly less star reliant.

Dillingham... IDK if he'll leave. He literally grew up there. And went back when it was on probation. I don't know him, but I don't see him leaving anytime soon.

I am happy with d line additions though.

Dilly ain't leaving. Ever. He's from the Valley, was a HS OC (at 21 if i may add) then was a coach under Norvell's offense and followed him around once he left ASU. He may be a lifer at ASU, which is really good for them. They need stability and an AD that invests in sports and cares about their facilities (Or lacktherof at ASU). They have 1 good facility and that's MACU Stadium. IF you go to the ASU Iowa State basketball game, you will know what I mean.

Getting guys to the NFL helps you win games at ISU. Most D1 starters think they are future NFL players.

Yeah but that's not the coaches primary job.

Just look at Iowa, based on the number of guys they put in the NFL you'd think they are National Title contenders every year, but they aren't. As a fan I prefer the coaches concentrate on winning games and let the NFL thing happen. If I was a fan of Iowa I'd be very disappointed in the results based on the "NFL talent" on the rosters.
