So if you're Sullivan and the SDSU QB is visiting, why stick around?

Seems like an issue if a school like Iowa is trying to find its QB in the portal each year.

When you're a celebrated FCS quarterback who decides to bet on yourself and take the scholarship for a chance to play in the NFL by attending Iowa:

Looks like JJ Kohl has visited App State with another visit scheduled for FIU. Also, his agent is quite a blast from the past:

His agent is Shane Burnham? Wally Burnham's son and former ISU coach? Interesting...

WVU's hometown boy, Hudson Clement, left for Illinois and an $800,000 payday. Very sad day when a kid from a local high school chases a bag, but can't blame kids for taking the best offer.

And it is also hard to blame a wr for bolting with RROD coming to town. His offense is a feast for running backs and not so great for wrs--unless they really like to block.

Or, and stay with me here because this is an insane thought, maybe he actually wanted to be in Ames?
The chatter after the season was that he was basically gone. Based on what our highest paid player makes(as of before the bowl game) i can’t imagine we’re giving him a huge bag. So I’m guessing he wasn’t going to get quite what he thought he would command and we will was able to give him enough of a raise to keep him. Depending on what the players situation is, most guys aren’t going to turn down a massive pay raise if they’re able to get one.

The consensus was he was “gone” because he would enter the draft. There was never concern he’d be gone to another college team

Chatter was nonexistent to minimal

There was literally no chatter of that.
